Congratulations!

Thank you for the update! Did the IHA also announce this birth?

You're welcome! Yes, the IHA announced the birth.

I saw Ayako's English wikipedia has been updated about her second son and apparently the IHA announced her 2nd pregnancy (at least according to magazine news-postseven April article)

I don't remember any announcement but perhaps the mainstream media or IHA press club didn't publish? I need to go back and see if the IHA announced her 1st pregnancy.

A reporter from Daily Shincho found Princess Tsuguko at izakaya chain restaurant "Torikizoku" in early September. She was with a man in his late 30s, allegedly her partner of 8 years, who works for a mega bank affiliated financial group. They shared a bowl and left after an hour.

The reporter nervously asked for an interview and Tsuguko agreed to answer some questions.

About this low-cost restaurant choice: "I happened to say, "let’s have dinner" and visited several restaurants but I didn’t have a reservation so I couldn't enter. That’s why I decided on Torikizoku. I’ve been to Torikizoku with my colleagues. It’s my first time here since the pandemic. I will come to similar places like this with anyone, like izakaya. I also eat yakitori normally.” (Reporter notes her frank response)

Are you marrying your partner?: "Not at all. We’re just good friends. Thankfully, I have many friends, both men and women, who I eat with."

No other partners? : "No, I don't. It’s not that I'm a workaholic (work is life). I'm not in a rush to get married."

Asked about Mako-san's marriage as a royal: "No, I'm not in a position to comment anymore… to the Naishinno-sama 内親王さま (princess) like that"

[I notice Tsuguko refers to Mako quite formally with her former title Naishinno and more respectful honorific -sama]

The reporter thinks about the IHA recent SNS consideration and the agency's struggles with PR and methods in the changing times, wondering if Tsuguko's response hints for the future of an "open Imperial family."

Source: Daily Shincho (September 20) includes photos of the “date” and older photos

On September 22, Jisin followed up on Daily Shincho's report on the "izakaya date" and cheap dinner. People online commented on Tsuguko's frankness, personality, etc.

An Imperial journalist said "when Tsuguko was studying aboard in the UK in her 20s, her online diary (blog?) leaked, causing controversy about her frank content about love. However, times have changed.
Besides official duties, Princess Tsuguko works for Japan UNICEF, commutes by train, and such outings are normal. She was also spotted at a restaurant in Roppongi last November, staying until midnight."

I found some old events.

On July 2nd, Princess Tsuguko attended the USA Independence Day ceremony at Tokyo American Club.
Photo (her face is peaking out between the seated gentlemen and the speaker):

On May 6, 2021, Princess Hisako paid a special courtesy visit to the departing Ambassador of Peru, Harold Forsyth.

She graciously presented a wooden statuette of an Inca warrior made by the sculptor A. Saravia, a silver-plated plate and a bronze box with Peruvian motifs, objects that belonged to her late father, that will be exhibited at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission in Tokyo.

Princess Hisako expressed the special appreciation that she feels for Peru and highlighted the important links between the two countries. She recalled that in recent years she had the opportunity to participate in various events organized by the Embassy, especially on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Peru.

ETA: Found more photos of Princess Tsuguko at the "Oman-Yamanashi Jewelry Exhibition" at the Embassy of Oman in Tokyo on October 4. She got to try on some jewelry.

George Hisaeda is the former Japanese ambassador to Oman and attended the event. He describes "Tsuguko as tall, graceful, and possesses dignity befitting an adult member of the Imperial Family of Japan" and "Today, seeing the hard work of a young and charming female member of the imperial family made me really happy and reassured. I would like the media to accurately report the true appearance of the royal family, rather than arbitrarily manipulating their impressions by putting a strange angle on the activities of the royal family."

During his time with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hisaeda had many opportunities to meet Prince and Princess Takamado through his work with Japan Foundation and Japan Football Association. He explains Tsuguko cutting the ribbon, some English in speech, and attentively interacting with the Ambassador of Oman and his wife, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, and people from the prefecture's jewelry industry. She spent a lot of time at the exhibits, asking questions. They were greeted by ambassadors and guests from various countries, and had a lively conversation.
