She looks great and jewelry is big yet light and airy. My only complaint is she wore the dress less than 2 weeks ago and she wore it to the same event in 2008.

The rich plum and pink suit her, and so do rich blues and reds, but she also looks splendid in white and cream and pastels, and browns too. She seems to be able to look good in just about any colour.

I think you're right about the colours for Camilla - the rich jewel-like colours and at opposite end the light, airy tones all look good on her. The middle tones including greys less so, but she always teams those well with a vibrant scarf.

This is not the dress she wore less than two weeks ago (and many times previously), though the colours are very similar. I have not seen this dress previously, and I think this is new and especially created to show the ruby and diamond necklace.

I'm not sure about 2 weeks ago but it's not the same dress from 2008. The bust line was more bodacious. I think it is the same necklace from 2008 just redesigned. Before it was bold but looked like a breastplate.

It is not the 2007 necklace redesigned. The rubies are a different shape.

I love the colour of Camilla's dress, and I agree that it suits her. The jewellery is wonderful as well and blends in nicely with the dress.

I'm never going to complain about how many times she wears that dress.
@ Muriel- are you sure it's not the same? It looks the same to me. Confused.

Camilla of Cornwall is my favourite in the Britsh royal family. The only minor point of critics I have (but that counts for all members of the British royal family with notable exception of Princess Michael): they put so little effort into an evening hairdo.

For evening functions a lot of royal ladies do adapt their hairstyle. Look at Queen Silvia, or Queen Máxima, etc. The Duchess of Cornwall wore eyepopping jewels and a beautiful robe. Her hairdo however, was her usual daily housewifey's hairdo. My wish would be: some more attention to this.

They are different, but I still can't put my finger on how! Think I like the second one better. Think it has to do with the ruby factor.;)

I dont recall Camilla ever wearing her hair up since she married charles. It's certainly long enough to do it.

There is a school of thought [although unsubstantiated], that believes the Duchess sticks to her 'tried and tested' hairstyle [and colour] because it it the one preferred by her husband...

This is not in the least unusual.. Many millions of women do exactly that, altho' far more keep to the hairdo they had in what they consider to be their 'prime', be it their 20s, 30s or 40s...

This is why so many women have hair unsuited to their look 'in maturity.. Nostalgia, pure and simple...

The dress she wore at the 2008 Cinema & Television Benevolent film premiere is the same dress she wore on February 3rd at the British Asian Trust.

The dress she wore yesterday to the Cinema & Television Benevolent film premiere looks the same except for the shiny middle panel. The collar is the same material. I think it is possible the middle panel can be zipped to conceal the shiny material and the neckline can be adjusted.

Or she purchased 2 almost identical dresses?

I like the shiny middle panel version a bit more. But I love those rubies! Now I can see the difference . Thanks Queen Camilla!

Yesterday's dress was worn in Philadelphia on January 27, 2007 with the 'breastplate' without the shawl.

I definitely like it better with the shawl. I like the other dress- the BAT dress better period.

Had a closer look at the dresses and I think there are at least two dresses, if not three.

The one worn to the BAT dinner is an old staple, has been worn many times over the years, and if I am not mistaken, it predates the wedding of C&C in 2005. It is a lovely, theatrical gown, with a lovely colour, and one of my favourite gowns on Camilla.

It is possible that the dress worn for the premiere of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is the dress from Philadelphia, with the next enhanced with the addition of the pink trim that matches the stole. The addition of pink fabric would help reduce the plunge of the neckline of the Philadelphia dress, yet allowing it to be plain enough to be a beautiful backdrop for the large necklace.

The only thing that makes me query this theory is that the Philadelphia dress was quite fitted around the bust and abdomen area, whereas the one worn to the premiere was less so. So either Camilla has lost some weight, or the dress has been altered or this is a completely different dress.

Our latest frame for the new ruby parure with it's distictive with narrow dark trim framing the neckline and the same, much lighter, wrap and clutch she wore to the BAT dinner.

Not to be confused with that worn to the BAT dinner at Whitehall: Distinctive for it's satin trim on the neckline, the turned back cuffs and the flash in the front of the skirt matching her wrap.

So the only point we are debating is whether the dress worn in Philadelphia in early 2007 was altered and reused for the premiere earlier this week.

I understand why she chooses burgundy velvet, but there are other colors and fabrics one can wear with rubies. Sometimes, her choices are a bit too easy for my taste.

Firstly, in my mind, Camilla is not one to be particularly fashion forward. Secondly, in this case, I think this is a reconditioned gown from 2007, so she did not bother getting a new one.

I think the rubies would have shown better with a contrasting color. I think she wears burgundy because it matches the rubies and is a good color for her.

Thanks for the photos. I suspect the dress from 2007 has been retired and the two most recent dress are newer. I know that when I have to discard an old dress I love, I try and find something similar.

.

The Duchess of Cornwall looking good in a creme white combination in Chinatown, London today, February 19:

** Full view ** Upper part ** Close up **
First- I see 3 dresses. No remakes IMO. Love 1 and 2- dislike 3.
BTW MARG JSYK several of your links that started with cache I got 403 forbidden .
Second-
Dislike this outfit.

I, instead, like the cream outfit! I like how the lines suits her body shape... Not a fan of that velvet? dark color... I think it's too "heavy".

I like the cream suit, particularly the skirt. The scarf and boots are great too. I wish we could see the earrings.
