What a great photo! There's no doubt the DoC has a wonderful sense of humor. I love this coat; the color and cut are excellent on her.

The Bruce Oldfield suits seem to be getting a workout recently. They must have come to the front of the revolving closet. I like this one, it's a great color and style on Camilla, and her jewelry is lovely.

The Queen is the one who sets the tone for the appropriate level of formality. She was wearing a suit jacket over a matching day dress. Therefore, that was the correct style of dress, especially since all the other senior royal ladies wore something similar.

Gorgeous shade of green on the duchess and she has perfected the look with her jewels other royals could learn a valuable lesson or two on how to get it right.

I don’t consider the Duchess had chosen an incorrect style of dress, but rather that she might have decided not to recycle and worn something new.

Camilla looks fabulous.
The colour brings out the warm tones of her skin and is perfect with the Prince of Wales brooch.
Next best dressed is Charles, himself. They make a very attractive couple.

Yes Ista, the queen always makes known to all invited to every event what exactly the dress code is for the day. This was not a formal nighttime glitter do. It was a proper daytime event that the queen showed in her outfit. Princess Anne, Camilla and Sophie always seem to hit the nail on the head. Maybe the age difference or just their many years of following. If any fashion by a female really annoys the queen, it will be made known quite fast. We remember quite clearly when the queen's relative pushy wife showed up at a funeral with lovely diamond jewelry on her coat, hat and purse [even through clothes were black] and she received not only dirty looks from her majesty but this disrespect was never again repeated. Just a small thing, but the queen still has certain rules and if not followed small changes will be made in some way. She is the queen and her wants should be respected. I personally think both Kate and Meghan looked nice in their own way. Two altogether different looks, personalities, styles and upbringing. Neither is better than the other, just different. Same as the world. We are all different but still must follow certain rules at a given time even if not our personal likes. When Charles becomes King, there might be different ideas.
