Not me personally, but if I could hazard a guess: a huge amount of white collar working women (Lawyer, businesses, reception) that want simple, easy, chic, comfortable clothing that look comfortable and proper at work without being a white shirt and pant-suit.

This always makes me smile a little.

I agree with you! But that outfit is ghastly, IMO! Better options out there.
What horror will we see Monday? Think positive Rose. This is only the 3rd outfit Kate's worn you couldn't stand.

Really another ill fitting dress too tight especially across the bust.
I like the colour though .. but just when you thought it could not get worse .. and then the hair... all over the show IMO

IMO the dress looks cheap, it's too short and the lower part is ugly.
So a £450 notworthit dress yesterday, then she balances out by wearing a £50 brown rag. It's january, the days are dull and some colour even royal blue would have been lovely.

Looks okay for £50.

It does look like a brown washcloth or towel! And color please! No more brown towels!

Clearly she doesn't dress to please you [NUMEROUS CRITICS], but to please herself !

That alone endears her to me...

I don't think expressing my opinion about an outfit I don't care for makes me a Kate critic...

Really.. roseroyal..

A critic is someone who finds fault with something and expresses an unfavorable opinion.

The word critic came into English by way of Latin, tracing back to the Greek word krinein, meaning “judge, decide.” If you’re a critic, you’re essentially judging something — and finding it lacking.

Critic can be used broadly to describe any person expressing an unfavorable view, but there are professional critics as well, such as people who review movies or music. In that sense, the word describes someone who thoughtfully assesses something, either favorably or negatively.

I sometimes critique her- often in fact , but not always do I criticize her as you suggested. There is a difference.

Catherine does have many endearing qualities and I know what you mean.

I think she dresses as she sees appropriate for a particular occasion and for other reasons including for herself, to please her husband perhaps, and certainly to please those she meets. She has her own look, which is quite distinctive rather than "classic conservatively dressed royal", and it should be no other way.
Because there is quite an "edge" to some of Catherine's style choices (like Maxima does!) I think does attracts more comment - both good and bad.

I don’t hate this dress but I don’t love it either. I think I would have looked better in a different fabric and I agree with the poster who said the fabric is too flimsy. To me it looks cheap which is a pity because the dress in itself is nice.

Really? I think the comments I hear most are that she is "dull". (I do not agree, btw)

I do like the colour brown but it's what you team it with that can turn it from being drab to delectable. Sadly imo this isn't the case with this dress, but she does look comfortable and importantly healthy. Can't believe that's two outfits in a row from Kate I haven't liked at all.

You and me both! Cross our fingers for Monday!
I'm with you- don't mind brown as long as it's delectable!
And as long as she wears color every now and then!

This dress is simply not made for a pregnant women.
The color, style and the print is so unflattering. Moreover, Catherine wears it so boringly, she could've at least tied her hair back and wore a nice necklace.

in my opinion, just because your rear end is covered in black nylon and lycra if it is showing it is still flashing.

Jacknch: did you ever notice she dresses differently for what I call "long shot" days (she is less close to people) and appearances where she will be meeting with people 1:1.

Generally - long shot days pop with color or bold pattern (think of when she's getting on or off planes, at the 9/11 memorial, launching a boat). She does that, I think for the same reason the queen does, to stand out in photos or for crowds from afar.

On days when she is meeting intimately with children and adults, she dresses more to blend in - and yes her taste is a bit dull. Her hair is softer. My interpretation is that she is purposefully taking the focus off the Duchess and letting the focus find the charity in the event. She wants to, and does appear, not so intimidating on purpose. It's not always true but is generally true IMHO.

So if she's wearing a pair of jeans and a jacket and she takes the jacket off, or the wind blows it up, she's flashing? I don't see much difference between a pair of thick, opaque, tights and a pair of tight jeans. If you can't see her skin or underwear - and you don't consider those thick tights to be underwear - through the outer garment, she's not flashing, IMO. But I guess this is one of these issues where opinions vary.

Thanks ...dazzling... I just could not put my finger on why a dress that is not too bad looked so odd and there it is .. not maternity and some may say that it is okay to do do that and in many cases I guess it is but here IMO bad bad ... even if she does choice for her own taste .. this is poor taste
