A very beautiful and elegant coat. Although, I dislike the dress.

To me, that coat looks like all the buttons will pop off if she takes a deep breath. I fail to understand why she couldn't wear one of the coats she wore in Sweden or Norway instead of a new coat. This late in her pregnancy, this one is probably a one and done, which is wasteful.

Because then people would have said it was rude to her countrymen, wearing all the new clothes on tour and wearing an old coat from a couple weeks ago for a UK engagment.

That coat is not overly tight and those buttons are not popping off. There is one wrinkle on the front.

Compared to the regular wrinkling on some other royals, this coat is roomy.

The coat is a pretty color. And I much prefer these buttons to the gold in Scandi

But I don't like the dress under it at all.

Kate's 3rd trimesters with George and Charlotte were much warmer weather and lighter weight clothes. I loved some of those dresses and coats (the yelllow Emilia Wickstead she wore to a garden party comes to mind) - but they are just not right for this cold weather. The green coat today was lovely but very snug - I dont think it will fit in a few more weeks.
George yes, but Charlotte?? Charlotte was due at the end of April, she was late. Kate is due in April, though not sure when in April. A difference of a few weeks is not much 'much warmer' weather.

Some fashion blogs suggest the front panel on the coat is removable so it can be worn non maternity. Good idea. I prefer the plum colored d and g coat worn in Norway, this one just has too many buttons and yes, I also feel as if she were stuffed into it. She looked great, love the dress, and how she bends down and gets up again at this stage is superhuman

This is a truly ugly coat for such a high price especially, but the dress underneath was nice.

She is really glowing.

.

The Duchess of Cambridge looking great in blue at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London today, February 27.

It's a Jenny Packham combination she wore:

Open coats much better at this stage of the pregnancy.

Considering how cold it is the UK (with the "beast from the east" weather) this outfit looks more spring.

Perhaps it's the photography, but the shades of blue (Coat and Dress) don't exactly match.

And it does look like a spring combination.

Kate loooooves to match the event! In this case, she saw those vee ended rectangle thingies on the front of the coat and thought "wear that to a college event where someone is wearing their robe. I will be a visual match to the robe!" Voila - perfect for today.

I actually do like it. I've always loved swing coats to both watch in action and to wear. They are a kick. And perfect for this point in the pregnancy. Both for comfort and kicky-ness. Plus why not wear blue for a change.

Gosh she can't feel the cold - the temperatures are hovering around zero in the UK today.

Being very warm in late pregnancy isnít a bug, itís a feature! (And quite normal, due to the increased volume of blood in a womanís body during pregnancy.)

Only if you're heavily pregnant in winter! I've had both experiences - heavily pregnant in the height of summer and low of winter and prefer winter hands down. It's amazing how much heat you radiate at the latter stages of pregnancy!

I loved Catherine's look, especially the jewellery.

Her usual-nice but nothing to write home about, appropriate but boring.

Nice look though but for the awkward place of the little white detail at the bust.

Really do like the color, like red on Letizia, blue is Kate's color it seems.
