I agree princess olga, as I said before, the only time an Elie Saab dress on a celebrity has made an impression on me was Hale Berry's 2001 Oscar dress. It was quite pretty (although I wouldnt call it stunning). I remember the media at the time raving about it. Queen Rania wore 3 dresses from that ES collection (Fall 2001) herself, the two black ones to the UK state visit and the midnight blue worn in Florence.
It would've been interesting if she had worn the Hale Berry dress in a different style. The colour would've looked striking on QR and it would've made for an interesting comparison with Hale Berry's version.
Here's the dress (Firstview):

For those who haven't seen these pictures already, here's #9 in two different versions on Debra Messing and Whitney Houston:

"do you mean this Givenchy dress:

I dont see any similarity between the two dresses though"

Thank you! that's the one, but looking at them together there's hardly any similarity between them, my memory must be playing tricks on me!

I think Rania's version of the dress is inifintely nicer! But Debra Messing looks better out of those 2 ladies.

they are all very very beautiful and more importantly for me, they are not vulgar at all and most of them are not revealing. few people can dress so beautifully and conservatively at the same time.

I liked 3, 9, and 10 best. The dresses are gorgeous and Rania has a figure that doesn't quit! She is truly an extraordinary beauty.

As others have commented, this is an approach-approach-approach-approach..... conflict!

Wow! :)

It was dificult to choose, but at the end my vote went for the brown dress (No.10) worn during the state visit to Sweden.
Other close contenders were for me:
-No.2; worn in London in May 2001
-No.6; the aquamarine from November 2002
-No.9; the emeral and gold dress worn in Sweden

It was very interesting to see the changes from the runway creation to what Queen Rania wore. :)

Definitely! I love how everything she wears is very stylish yet conservative enough where it isn't revealing. My personal favorite has to be this blue dress. http://img382.imageshack.us/my.php?i...02amman1kl.jpg Gorgeous.

Wow, I didn't realize that Halle Berry's dress was ES. I agree, I think that color would have looked amazing on QR and it would have been very interesting comparison in a different style.

I love cut. Chocolate brown lace is gorgeous.
This dress looks elegant, modern and sexy.

Default Very Difficult Choice!!!!

This is a very difficult choice as I happen to love Elie Saab's designs so much!!!! I voted for #6 as my favorite because of the color, the way the fabric draped so beautifully, the exquisite detail of the fabric.....It just is a breathtaking gown! Elie Saab understands color and fabric so well and also obviously does his homework when it comes to designing for specific events. The gowns are always appropriate and cut just so. Does he get involved in the details such as the handbag, shoes, jewelry, the way the hair is worn? Some designers do so. Of all the designers out there today--and if I had the money--Elie Saab would definitely be my designer of choice hands down!!!!:)
