I never liked this dress, I think it's too much for a Queen, Its inappropriate for a Queen, i cant imagine how people would critism Letizia, if she would wear it..

i think that's pretty dress on Queen Maxima,she is the only royal lady i know who can pull sush extravagant gown beautifully.

I fail to see how it is inappropriate for a queen Yes, Letizia would be criticized if she wore it because she couldn't pull it off. It would over whelm her. Maxima is one of the few who can pull off a style like this.

That said its not my favorite, even on Max I find the upper detail a lot. But the color is sensational. And the jewelry a stunning addition.

Only Queen Maxima could pull of this gown, she did a perfect job of it before and again. The jewels really help make this a stand out gown for her and she looks just fabulous in it.

I liked this green dress when she wore it last time. And I still like it. This shade of green suits her and Maxima can effortlessly pull off those crazily wavy ruffles like no one else...and still feel comfortable and elegant. Those emeralds look simply spectacular. Lovely updo.

I love this dress and I'm glad she wore it again. Her styling was great and the emeralds was a the best match.

The dress is very Maxima but I find it very unflattering, especially around the waist down. The material looks cheap.

Inappropriate for a Queen? Come on, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Sonja of Norway, all of them have worn far more outspoken and theatrical dresses than this relatively simple one by Máxima.

The dress itself may not be to everyone's taste but it's a formal dress being worn to a gala event. It's an appropriate choice for the event she's going to.

To carry a look like this I think you need height and confidence. Maxima has both and she looks amazing.

Do not like *jumpsuits* on any woman regardless of whom they are, this is not good on her. She is a queen not a movie star on the red carpet......

I would have to agree. I really like her updo and gorgeous earrings and the white trim of the off-the-shoulder top really kicks in her wonderful summer tan.

Queen or not, Maxima looks terrific and a pantsuit is a great evening look. Needless to say, had the engagement required dancing or an evening of meeting and greeting, then perhaps she would have worn a gown. However this is quitessential Maxima who seems to like it for evenings such as concerts and film premiers, etc.

After a good search I found that Maxima is the queen of trousers. Two or three peice pantsuits, matching pants and tops, you name it, she wears it,

I don't like pantsuits in general but some of those Queen Maxima wears are nice, some are hideous.
The recent black one is one of the nicer pieces.

Not liking this wild and crazy print even though she is someone who can sometimes carry it off, now she can't be that busy when she gets up in the morning that she can't at least wash and comb that dirty hair? What a mess this is....
