Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan, Fashion & Style: October 2011 -

What I find so striking? Just how much more comfortable and confident HM appears in these pics, as compared to pics of her a year or two ago. That scared and nervous look that used to be there is gone and now she just shines, which only makes her even more lovely and pretty looking. :)

I adore that final picture of TM. They both look so happy and combine that w/where they are and how could it not end up being anything less than gorgeous!?!

Thanks for all the links!!

They make such a stunning couple-and the way she wears the traditional costume is just utterly entrancing. Can't wait for them to have children and see how beautiful they'll be.

First off...Are there any colours HM doesn't look lovely in? I'm serious BTW. I honestly can not think of a picture of The Queen where the colour didn't either really suit her or just look amazing on her.

It's allowed to say I'm jealous of her for that, right? :)

Second...That Birthday portrait of her among the blossoms is now my new all time favourite Royal Official Birthday Portrait. It is simply gorgeous.

She is so beautiful. And as someone who sews a lot, I absolutely drool over the wonderful Bhutanese fabrics.

Same here. Indian Sari fabrics used to be my very favourite, but they've since become tied w/the fabrics of Bhutan thanks to the pictures of both the King and Queen the last few years. :)

She truly is such a beautiful lady who just radiates Serenity both inside and out.

I love her traditional outfits and will search a way to access bhutanese fabrics. Having said that, I think that she should feel free and allowed to wear Western outfits regardless the commentary, and even a costly bag when she feels so. It takes more than that to become Imelda Marcos. Many countries have poverty, including Western ones. There is poverty in UK, and we see princesses Eugenie and Beatrice wearing expensive fashion outifits (sometimes with arguable results) since they were teenagers. Monarchies / Principalities were there may not be poverty and would allow expensive outfits in light of comments previosly posted here would probably just be: Monaco, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein. All the others should then think twice before sporting a Chanel bag. Moral standards should work for anyone and Queen Jetsun should not be treated as the Cinderella who shall not afford anything in my view.

Her traditional wear has anything to do with the country's poverty or moral standards. It's a cultural thing, where every citizen wears the country's traditional clothes on a regular basis.
Moreover, she has been seen wearing western clothes aboard and also with a Hermès bag.

Mmmm.... in case you were replying to me, I suggest that you read my post a second time. If this fails, ask me and I will write again and will try to be clearer.

I swear, she must be some alien from a planet of phenomenally beautiful ladies because I don't think I have ever seen her looking anything less than stunning.

Is she not free to dress in western clothes if she chooses? And by whom is she treated as Cinderella?

I said exactly the opposite, I believe that Queen Jetsun shall be free to wear whetever she chooses and I do not agree with comments read in this discussion suggesting that she shall mostly wear traditional clothing and going against her choice of luxury bags. Hence my reference to unfair treatment of her. Fast reader?

I think no one here implied that she should mostly wear traditional clothing, that's why your other post was so confusing. All I read here is that she is beautiful either in traditional wear or western clothes, both look good on her. Though, Bhutan fabrics are something to be admired because they are very stunning.
Jetsun Pema doesn't receive unfair treatment, not here, or other places that I read. She is free to wear what she wants, but in her homeland where everyone wears traditional clothing, it will be odd for her to wear western clothing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against you, I'm just confused of what you wrote before.
