That's a BIG hat! Pity the brim is useless in the northern sun!

:previous:

Your right, that hat does not suit her, it looks very large on her frame. I was wondering about the fabric for the suit, even from a distance it looks heavy, the color is great, yet is it cool in Scotland right now? ?

Low to mid teens this week at Balmoral it seems.

But agree it looks a bit heavy. Lovely color :flowers:

Usually love hats but this doesn't suit her or fit. Rare hat fail for her.

:previous: This is a typical HM outfit, but that's why she's able to carry it off so well. ? She looks lovely.

I admire this woman and her looks so very much. Always looks so very clean and "put together". I know she has help, etc., but so do many of the other royals in other countries and there are times when they look like they could use a good scrub or shampoo. Could be the lighting in some photos but every close-up of Queen Elizabeth II shows clear clean skin and perfect make-up for her age. Like my late mother would say, "Always look like you care about yourself when in public." This woman does.

Your so right Hereditary Princess, that shade of blue is perfect on HM and I really love that brooch. As always she is perfect when out working and I bet has the most comfortable shoes in the world..........custom made no doubt yet I wish for some that like that....comfortable when walking around all the time.

I wondered if she always wears the same shoes or if they are only looking the same but being more than one pair.

I wonder the same thing as we see those shoes quite often. I would imagine that if they are the same pair, they're very well taken care of and kept in pristine condition.

I remember reading too that Charles has a favorite pair of shoes that he's worn for 40 years and actually found an article about them. So, with this in mind, its not beyond belief that HM also favors one pair of very comfortable shoes. :D

Not that I'm an expert or is interested in the Queen's shoes, but if you follow all her engagements, you'll notice that she in fact wears 4 or 5 different pairs. I don't know how long she uses them, but I've read that they are often replaced with a new pair, impossible to notice since they are made in the same way.

And some of her small-footed staffers actually walks them out for her to make them confortable.

What is the name of the brooch that HM was wearing today? As with all her jewelry it was beautiful, but I don't know the name of that one.
