Many of her outfits hit just the right note. She never seems to put the wrong foot forward in terms of her dress and the way she carries herself, etc. :) I wonder how much is budgeted for her wardrobe?

I think her outfits are age appropriate. They might not always be something I would wear, but they suit her position and age.

She looks great in red but if I recall something on color charts Queen Elizabeth is considered a winter tone, right? So she looks her best in blues and other blue shade variations and white and silver ice colors.

I believe Queen Sofia of Spain is an autum chart so she looks her best in reds, ambers and rust-like colors.

Queen Elizabeth does look good, her outfits are very well suited to her age.

Toledo, I think you're right, and most of the Queen's outfits that stand out in my mind have been blueish tones. She wore turquoise for her Christmas speech and looked lovely.

I'm not a great fun of her white dresses. I prefer colour. I think Her Majesty looks great in red, but not in the evening.

I would think summer rather than winter. Some of the really strong colours are a bit much for her.

I agree. color is much better for her while unfortunately the white dresses often make her figure look dumpy. though that may also have to do with the cut.

I also think it's the cut. For some reason her white dresses often have a worse cut than the others.

I don't like the purple one she used for her Christmas address to the nation. Although when she uses these colors, like the red one, she does strike out because we are so used to see her in blues, whites and silvers. Camilla is a summer or a winter? This sound like a thread to start, the color charts of the royals. I've found this to guess: what season are you?

Great idea for a new thread!!

By the way, which purple outfit? I thought she wore turquoise for the "Queen's Speech", could someone post a pic of it please, I'd love to see it. Thanks...:)

The typical British colouring (fair skin, fair to brown hair, blue or grey or hazel eyes) tends to be summer. I think the Queen and the Queen Mother have typical summer colouring.

Toledo, Winters and Summers can wear red as long as it's blue-red. Autumns have a hard time wearing red and look better wearing rust or one of the other off-reds.

Actually I think I read that the Queen is a Summer-Winter, a Summer that leans to Winter. Summer-Winters can wear jewel tones that are not too dark. Royal blue rather than deep navy blue. I think she's having more problems wearing the jewel tones now because her hair has turned white-gray and doesn't have the contrast with her skin that when she had dark hair.

Fergie is a true Autumn with that red hair and looks fabulous in cream and brown.
