Smile Mary Donaldson

Matesha,

Princess Mary, formerly Mary Donaldson, is the Crown Princess of Denmark. She married Crown Prince Frederick on May 14th of this year. They met at the Summer Olympics in Sydney four years ago. She is originally from Tasmania.

I hope this answers your question.

Methinks this is not the usual way of going about things.... posting the same question in practically every single thread....hidden agenda perhaps?? :)

Yes some people don't know that Denmark is a monarchy. And what's being implied in this (oft posted) question - that no-one knows about Denmark and no-one cares about its "unknown to the masses" Crown Princess?? Perhaps the whole world won't care.... but there are people in this world who are willing to waste valuable time online to post about the Danish Crown Princess.... (lol...like me!)

Yeah, I guess Mary isn't as world famous and renowned as the Danish media make her out to be! To think that the Danish media have said that Mary inspires Hollywood with her style and is a big star in Athens!

Opinions are a funny thing, after all, they are just what they are.

Me, I don't think Mary has broken any molds whatsoever, in fact, I find her attempting with great effort to dress the part of princess instead of just being herself--her hats in particular drive me batty because they don't suit her at all. I find her more attractive in photos from the olympics then ever before because she's just being Mary watching the olympics, she's not trying to play the part of princess. Once she develops the self-confidence to be herself she'll do fine--but I'll be surprised if she sets the world afire as the press in Denmark and Australia anticipate. Maybe she'll prove me wrong, maybe not; time will tell.

A big star in Athens and an inspiration for Hollywood ..This is really a joke to me...Do they want to upgrade denmark through mary or what..i do not understand such overstated statements...

Does their media want to make mary another diana?

I am confused about the danish media 's behavior

One should not take seriously the exaggerations of the press. Each country always think highly of itself - that's really normal. For example, the Dutch press and the Dutch people will always think they have the best and the most popular princess in Maxima, but the Belgians will always talk up their Princess Mathilde (which I fully support! :) ). That's just the way it goes - so I don't know why people who clearly know that the Danish media are exaggerating keeps getting offended by such exaggerations. They're exaggerations, its to be expected, and it happens all the time.

And just a question for matesha - so you're not using the Humble username now? Care to explain the reason behind doing what you did in two forums?....

Well said, Jasl. :)

As for Humble/Matesha I doubt she'll be posting anytime soon since she "outted" herself by mistake...or hopefully she can state her reasons for her bizarre behavior on LTR, RBHQ and CPss Mary of Denmark board. Or not...

Take Care

Princess Mary looks like Cathrine-Zeta Jones???...That is simply silly, silly enough that I immediately laughed. The only thing they have in common is the color of their hair and eyes!!! Cathrine's beauty far surpasses that of Princess Mary...IMO, of course.

The magazines are trying too hard to make an impression...I hope readers will make their own judgements.

LOL! I think people know by now that they don't necessarily have to agree with what the magazines say! Of course people here will make their own judgements - it goes without saying really.

And whilst I think Catherine might be just a bit more prettier than Mary, I don't think her looks "far surpasses" Mary's.

Default Catherine Zeta Jones

Catherine Zeta Jones is a bit eccentric. She once dated a porn star called John Leslie. She also dated "legendary womaniser" Mick Hucknall, lead singer of Simply Red. She's now married to actor Michael Douglas, a self-confessed sex addict / adulterer.

She also worn quite a few suits that had jackets that were not really tailored for her particular figure and although they were of nice colors and material, they didn't flatter as well as they could have if they were to have been cut a bit differently.

I don't find that Mary is doing things that other Princesses do as does her sister-in-law Alexandra. Alexandra as well sometimes wears things that maker her appear older and that are cut too harshly (also possess too much material) for her small frame, but I guess for some it is like wearing a uniform.

Mary hasn't stepped out of any mold, IMO. She is the same to me making some of the mistakes by wearing what she feels that she should wear at times instead of what is most flattering on her.

No, I think must disagree with you in many instances. Mary hasn't been innovative in the least. She is tastefully dressed which is good, but that's all. Mary is no fashionista or style icon. When she is she will then set the trends and never follow them, and create her own personal style. [/b]
Gigi, I Agree with you...

Anyway, Danish are dying to make their Mary a fashion icon no matter what... :dew: :hardhead:[/quote]

care to explain your great dislike for Mary apart from your jealousy over her wardrobe and the fact she is married to Frederick???

totally true. i agree with you too, gigi and hillary.

some people like mary to the point of not being objective. she has dressed nice sometimes, but she is not a fashion icon.

'some people like mary to the point of not being objective. she has dressed nice sometimes, but she is not a fashion icon."

So far the media has been the only one that has called her a fashion icon.

Yes, but there are those who agree with the media's assessment of Mary being a fashion icon. Therefore, these individuals would agree and believe that Mary is a fashion icon.

I agree with those who have said that some people let their feelings get in the way of objectivity. The media has certainly done this along with individuals on this board and others.

When Mary looks nice and wears something that compliments her, I say so, but when she wears things that don't particularly flatter her, I also say so. I would call that objectivity. I would also have to agree with Gigi that Mary does wear nice clothes, but not all of it looks great on her in particular.
