^well then,I was just surprised, because ur sentence let me think that Rania doesn't have a stylist,as it was the continuation of "it's well knowen that certain royals don't have one...like Rania..."

Just a reminder- this thread is to look at Mary's recycled clothing, not to debate which princess has the best stylist.

Let's please get back to the topic at hand!

Yes, they are the same shoes. They're not my favorite pair of Mary's but I really like the color.

I agree, strange choice, the shoes don't go with either the jewelry or the dress.

Absolutely stunning in the pic with the brown top and black skirt. There is absolutely no problem with recycling cardigans, because they are staples and in basic colors. This is not a fashion or etiquette faux pas. The blue polka dot and white skirt is Prada, and the long white skirt is a nice Chanel number. I think she herself has very good taste

I always laugh when I read something about "recycling" of shoes.... If you have a job which includes a lot of walking and standing, then the oldest shoes are simply the best while new ones can turn into objects of torture...

As for the recycling: when you read the interviews with Mary in which she talks about her own role within the Danish monarchy, then you see that she has a very professional view on what is required of her. She insists that the Royal family has to listen to the expectations of the people and try to fulfill it in order to "survive" (her own word). I guess the image tag" Imelda Marcos of the North" was one she recognized as something dangerous. OTOH she knows that people want her to dress up and try to do something special for each public appearance. It's not an easy task but I believe Mary puts in a lot of thought and I think she suceeds admirable.

For me it was interesting to see that she obviously has some "private" favorites she that can only be seen on paparazzi snapshots, not on pictures from public events. These pieces of clothing tell a lot about the princess, as they are comfortable, simple items - of good quality, of course, but well-worn and obviously loved. But on seeing the pics here, well, on getting a glimpse at Mary's clothes over the years I got the impression that even the private favorites tend to become more and more classic coordinates. The former young girl from Australia turns into a Royal lady even in private.

IMHO it's this stife for perfection in her job that is annoying to some members here. But I see it as an act of self-protection. She is not the character I believe who accepts failure easily and tags like the "Imelda Marcos" one are hurtful then.

Don't forget she's a lawyer (that means: has a concept of justice she won't find in her contacts with the media) and a PR professional - these people tend to think that you can create every impression if you only do it right. So it must be difficult for her sometimes and I do hope that she does not read the papers too often... I still believe this was one of the things that threw Princess Diana: she couldn't cope with the difference in her personal perspection of herself and the public image which changed constantly according to the media's interests. I do hope that Princess Mary is wiser when it comes to her "media career". And that she will start to wear a bit more daring clothes when she feels more secure with her position as princess.
