She appears to be bucking the trend with burgundy.
 
Well The Queen wore green in 2014, so it’s clear she’s relaxed the “rules” for The Duchess.
 
It’s still a ‘sombre’ colour with sufficient black in the whole look to be appropriate to the occasion.
 
I think the Duchess looks lovely. I think the color is sufficiently muted to be suitable for the occasion.

Agreed. The burgundy and black is beautiful, classy, and elegant. It looks appropriately muted color wise to me.
 
I never got the 'have to wear black'. Its a remembrance event, not a funeral. And that evening is a celebration. They don't stick to black for Anzac day.


I think the Duchess looks elegant. And certainly the top is muted and not in the face or such. Lovely choice.

A bit of a jumbled look for Lady Amelia. The coloured sleeves clash with the patterned boots IMO.
