Hmm, yes, William's outfit is bordering on the scruffy for me. The top half is actually very nice including the trendy tie - if only the trousers were of the same clothe and Haakon's shoes had been sent back to him :whistling:

Frederik's short and tie combination is really very nice - dark or navy blue goes well with brighter colours.

I was also impressed with Frederik's blue check suit he wore at the Parliament.
 
Perhaps the shoes were a present from Haakon?

I can just hear it: "Wait a sec, Will. I've got a pair of comfy shoes somewhere. Practically brand new, I only wore them for 18 years. - Gonna get them for you".

And once they were on William's feet, he went over to the Dark Side...

Kate must have been absent or she would have blindfolded William on the spot, lest he saw the shoes. Now it's too late...
 
I've been waiting for the brown shoes to surface here again. I know many of you loath them with blue, grey and black suits. Much less formalwear.

And I would admit that men's fashion trends in the US are intersting to say the least.

But I have a niece who is a wedding photographer. It's been over 9 months since I've seen one of her grooms in other than brown shoes. It's really quite a trend. And it does not matter how formal the wedding - they all have worn brown shoes.

Frankly, I don't notice it anymore - that's how ubiquitous it is as a trend. :flowers:
 
The imaginary scenario's created to explain an odd item of clothing on this thread is mind-blowing and soo entertaining. Thanks Muhler, I don't think I will ever be able to look at Wills wearing suede shoes without my mind's eye wandering off to Haarkon.

Just a question of general interest. Have some of the younger royals gone over to the darker side and started wearing pre-tied bow-ties for black tie affairs? There are some pretty skinny bow ties at odd angles, enough to wonder as to what, precisely, is under the collar turndown . . . :ermm:

Yes, one of Harry's old ones with leaping bunnies on it that he was very fond of, giving a subliminal message! He could also have bought a new suit. A grey would have gone with the green of Meghan's dress better, and a dark green tie. But no, he has to stick with old faithful in blue!
 
I did notice that Harry’s teeth looked much whiter and brighter. Perhaps he has given up smoking.
 
Probably. I don't think Meghan smokes and she probably objects to him doing so. OTOH maybe Harry knew he would be doing interviews and so got his teeth whitened.

The blue looked good with her dress/coat, so I gave him a pass. Don't upstage the fiancé on your first time out with the press. :lol:

Yes, Frederik is the epitome of male elegance.That certainly wouldn't put anyone to sleep. I do like the grey and blue combination.

Gotta love Fred's tie with bicycles...I have a short sleeve shirt hanging in my summer closet, navy with the very same bicycles on it, got that shirt from of all places, H&M 3 blocks from where I live on Michigan Ave. Wear it in the summer with white pants and navy flats and a big floppy navy straw hat....:lol:
 
I have to give big points to Harry today for pairing his long coat with a scarf, and the scarf is not blue! ;)

I really like Harry's coat and scarf combination - it's elegant and there's none contrast there without it being fussy.
 
I am so pleased Harry is upping his fashion game lol. I always felt both Harry and William dressed rather too casually then was appropriate. This suit is a great look for Harry.
 
He looks sharp! I'm thinking there's something (or someone) behind that!

Finally Harry has upped his suit game a little! This plus the Coat/scarf combo on Friday gives me hope. Harry looks extremely handsome when he is in a well fitted suit.
