Not liking both dresses. The Valentino dress is too messy and transparent for me, but I love the hairstyle.

The Pucci dress can look nice on a young woman, but not on MM. On her, it looks very cheap and tacky, like an aging Saloon girl.

In general I have the impression that MM is overdoing the tanning and bleaching, not a good look for an almost 40 year old.

I am not a fan of her tanning and bleaching too.I miss the old days where she was all natural.

Sorry, but her choice of clothing is terrible.
I don't like her dresses nor her hair

She look great in both dress...

I fully agree with you. The Pucci dress is more appropriate for a younger celebrity or actress. I find tan gauche.

The Valentino looked a little peasant-like to me. However, I did favor the Pucci black, but most of the pictures show it from the waist up- wonder how the full view looked?

Ahh! thank you. I DO like the full view! The shoes are super sexy too!

The Pucci dress was a big risk but she pulled it off well. She looked beautiful!

Oh dear. The full length photo is even worse than the top photos! She just looks so.. cheap. The shoes don't help either.

I love the shoes and it's a nice dress, but it somehow doesn't suit MM very much. Don't think she's too old for such a dress, it's just a bit against her type. Overall she has looked so great in the last two years or so, I can easily forgiver her. ;)

Dress is nice, but she already worn better outfits. MM seems to like ruffles and pastels but sometimes it's too immature for her. I like her is minimalistic style, monocolor outfits. With her Nordic beauty she doesn't need too much ornaments.

You've got to watch the bows and ruffles once you hit age 10. I also never met a bow or ruffle I didn't like, but I know to avoid them or keep it to a minimum for effect.
There is just TOO much for the black dress. I love the lace sleeves, and the shoes, the bow around the neck was just too much.

Like the lace sleeves but the bow is too cutesy for this type of dress.
Luv the shoes with the multi ankle straps.

I don´t like either dress, don´t suit Mette-Marit´s type, IMO. The first one is a bit shapeless and the top is too sheer, in the second one she looks as a saloon girl, yes, it was well said in one of previous posts.
However I like her bleached hair and make-up, I think she looks very attractive in it.

I like the red dress. The colour and shape suit the princess.

I applaud her or having the courage to wear that Pucci (it's not the easiest to pull off imo) and she does it quite well. But it would look better on someone taller and thinner.

The Valentino is just utter crap.

Empress Merel, she is one of the tallest princesses around and as for thinner, the woman has given birth to three children. Not everyone is Victoria Beckham, for goodness sake :whistling:

Then don't wear a dress like that. I'm merely saying it would look better on someone with a smaller figure (iow: a really good waist-to-hip ratio). That's all, nothing more. Same goes for the Valentino.

Here's the runway version:

Frankly, I don't even like it on the runway model much less on the CP!

I like it. I really really do. It seems so simple until you notice all the lovely details.

It's a nice dress but nothing special.

I can see there's intricate embroidery on the dress and I like the train, but I don't care for the T-shirt-like top. It's too casual a look for me.
