I dont like this dress with the sash and that black train thing looks horrible imo :O

?? I'm in heaven. I love the addition of the floaty material to cover the shoulders/chest. She knows how to rock evening wear does Mary.

Agree, the dress was already stunning but the black material just added something extra !

a great night for Mary

Mary looks stunning. I really like this dress; she often looks fantastic in gala wear.

Um, I think I prefer it in the original state.

Usually Mary knows how to modify a dress, but this one I think cannot surpass the previous. Maybe it was only done to wear a sash?

I think I prefer the original version of this dress. I would like the see this new version with the black scarf thingy without the sash. I think the scarf and the sash are fighting each other.

I agree. The dress is beautiful, but the black scarf doesn't blend well, which is a shame. I prefer the original too.

I prefer the original too. The train thing looks odd to me, it's like she grabbed a random fabric and add it on her gown. And there are too many colors I think? The rubies doesn't look well with that bright blue sash.

The black and white gown is very stunning and regal. She looks wonderful.

Finally seeing the dress in HQ. Still love it! The addition of the black shoulder shaw adds a nice drama to the dress which elevates the total look. Mary knows how to dress appropriately for her role, but with a keen eye for stylistic flairs that keeps her fashion elegant and classy, but contemporary as well.

I love the dress without the train. The train is woefully distracting, unnecessary, and out of place.

Maybe the train/ fabric was a temporary addition to allow for the sash to be pinned to it.? Hopefully, it can be removed at some future time.......

I would bet good money that the black drape is a temporary addition, perhaps only because the sash is a 'one size fits all' and it needed something to hold it on her shoulder.

The original gown has got a few more outings in it before it reappears in another incarnation I think.

:previous: I don't know why but I love it. Mary's twist on the classic LBD is a real cracker. Without that gloriously long fringe paired with those silver-tipped, stratospheric stilettos, it would have been a very ho-hum affair. Even her jewellery is either silver or white gold.

I agree Marg. Lovely dress. She looks beautiful

The jewelry is terrific as is the hairdo. The fringe and super high heels look like a costume, to put it politely. Do not like the zipper on the front of the dress. Her posture and figure allow her to make anything look good

I'm usually not a fan of fringes, but I don't hate this one, oddly.

I agree, Mary's posture makes everything look better.

Love the dress, shoes, & bag. The bouquet is beautiful - so colorful!

Really stunning, is necklace a diamond clover? Beautiful dress and unexpected shoes!

Thats a lovely neckline on Mary, and I like the skirt and the shoes.

I literally mouthed "wow!" when I saw Mary's skirt because it's so beautiful.

Really don’t like the combo, the green skirt looks ok with the white blouse. The black blouse doesn’t seem to go with the skirt and makes it look even stiffer than it is

Absolutely love everything about this look!

Apparently so does the gentleman escorting her in the first picture!

Nice outfit, and the skirt looks so different with the dressy black top as opposed to being paired with the more everyday white shirt. Love the shoes!

I liked the white blouse and green skirt and think it is very flattering but the pairing of the black top and green skirt just raised the whole look to an elegant evening ensemble and IMO, looked far better than the black and blue skirt.
