Mary looks absolutely stunning. I love this outfit. I've said it many times before, the classical look is best on her imo, very regal.

Completely agree with you, the classic look works well for her.

I think she looked stunning at the opening of Parliment I love the rich deep aubergine against the pale pink delicious.
The black is very nice she has the most stunning legs .. you cannot go wrong with balck IMO

She look fine today but the dress is a tad too short IMO.

I think the dress is excellent in style and colour, but too short.

Yes, she is a perfect example that you can look stylish while dressing in almost all black (with dark hair to boot!), while for some reason when Mette-Marit does it she looks like a Sicilian widow, despite her bleached hair. I think the big difference is that Mary really gives thought to her position and the appropriate dress it requires, resulting in her looking fantastic even when she has a fashion "miss".

Ah, that was the word I was looking for . . . aubergine! It tastes disgusting but the colour is to die for.

I agree that she has great legs, which probably why, when I saw her black tights I thought no, just no. It's way too heavy. But then I realised that I am enjoying a beautiful Spring and looking forward to a fabulous Summer while most of you are feeling the nip in the air in late Autumn.

So, a rethink on the black tights, but I still hate them with pumps and think they should only be worn with ankle boots or any boots for that matter.

In Autumn/Winter I use barely black stockings with dresses and court shoes as it is a much softer "look" than heavy black tights that remind me of the ones I used to wear in Winter with my school uniform. Ugh! No fond memories there!

CPMary looked stunning at the opening of Parliament, here pillbox hat was divine and she can wear most types of hats(royal hat blog). I loved her coat, I thought the color was a very pale pink with the dark purple showed nicely. In viewing some of the pictures from the Hello Canada magazine, it showed really great pictures of her and Fred. Also showed there is no love lost between Marie and her..........whoa I thought of that picture. PMarie's outfit didn't do her justice, a straw hat with a wool winter jacket..........not good choices at all.

I find the dress a bit too short and the overall was too dark. The print of the dress is not flattering. Not her best look.

The arrival photo shows three of the four women, Mary included, wearing black tights which must be the thing in Denmark. I agree with marg that they shouldn't be worn with pumps.
Besides, the outfit was fine, the dress a little short.

She looked pure perfection today. One of my favourite hats+hair combo ever in the royal world.

I know I am commenting late (on the opening of Parliament), but I love her look so much I just had to toss in my agreement! Her hair and hat just made her look like a fashion icon. Fabulous!

Still busy Mary today as patron of 'School for 200 years' makes a visit to Arena School in Greve in connection with the Schools Exercise Day. Wearing black three-quarter pants, black top and a bright patterned coat:

Anyone who like me has noticed that Mary the last many events have worn this woven/pearl bracelet? Maybe something from her children?

what an interesting pattern in the coat! quite unusual...

:previous: I agree, it does give off a hippie vibe. Overall, it suits Mary and she looks elegant, although I'm not a huge fan of it myself as the black swirls make the whole pattern seem quite busy. I would also prefer it if all the patterns were black as I'm not sure how I feel about the colours and the black together. I'm also not too keen on her trousers as they're a little baggy for me and look a little awkward with her shoes.

I love it. She has looked beautiful as always these last weeks. Her hair
is amazing to me. I love it!!!

Cute coat, perfect for a day with children and if something gets spilled on it, well you can not tell because of the pattern of the fabric............great for playing with children. She most always looks perfect in any occasion.

She looked nice, the coat is lovely and the blue dress underneath is also very pretty.

Absolutely lovely. Simple, elegant, and sophisticated. The shade of blue looks great on Mary.

So pretty. It looks like peach to me.

Love the outfit, I want that blouse! Her hair looks a lot better

Mary today at her first day in Tajikistan looking IMO super lovely in pastel colors. Looks like maybe a new haircut. Mary actually first worn the grey skirt before she got married - back in April 2004:

The outfit would've been so much nicer without the cardigan. If it was a bit cold, then I would've worn a jacket.

I don't like this outfit at all. Not only do I think it's sorta ugly, but the colors do nothing for her. They just wash her out.

The blue outfit she wore to the Opera was really nice.
