I was really pleased to see that Camilla is happy to wear tartan when in Scotland. Diana always seemed uncomfortable in it. Each to his own I suppose but when your husband is Duke of Rothsay........

It has been one month now since Camilla Parker-Bowles became Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. During the last four weeks we've seen Camilla take on royal engagements officially alongside Charles, and repeatedly and more frequently, I am reading comments here, on other message boards as well as in newspapers, magazines and seeing reports on television about what a fashion plate of sort Camilla is becoming.
I thought that it would be interesting to do a "fashion report card" of Camilla one month into her new role as the Duchess of Cornwall. How does everyone think she is doing style wise? Does she dress sufficiently and appropriately for her role? Does she dress appropriately for her age? Her best fashion 'do' so far? How about her big fashion 'no' so far? What advice would you give to her? What is something that she has done right that you would tell her to keep on doing? I have also included here a poll of various outfits worn by the Duchess of Cornwall during her first month. Which one is your favourite and why? Which outfit do you hope stays at the back of her closet for the rest of time? |

All bar one have been exceptional. There seemed to have been some problem with the hem of her skirt on the weekend and the pleats did not really suit her. She should stick to a straight or A-Line Skirt.

I like the duchesse with red dress then the second is the pink dress, she looks younger with bright colour.

My absolute favorite is the Gown she wore for her Wedding Blessing! Not necessarily the headpiece.

The tartan inspired outfit.
I also liked the pinstriped outfit that she wore. I thought the skirt looked especially well on her, but there was something strange about having the belt around her waist. It didn't really fit, in my opinion, and "broke" the symmetrical stripes going down that were making her seem taller than I suspect she is. Simple is better in a lot of cases.

I voted for this one: Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, arrives at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Institute for Indian Art and Culture. (April 29), because it's quite professional and can be worn no matter your age without looking too young or too old.
I have to say that in one month Camilla's carried on quite the list of royal duties, considering too that she had a honeymoon during part of this month. She's also looked darn good at all of these engagements. There are outfits that I like more than others but none of the outfits are bad. |

Camilla has chosen a very feminine look for herself. In general, I think it's a good look for her (although I don't care for the enormous hats).
I think she's also had her teeth whitened and a facial peel or something (she doesn't look so weather-beaten). But it's such a change I wonder how she feels about it. |

Hmm, she looks better now than 10 years ago. Not so, "country farm-yard mistress" look. I think she chooses more elegant clothing, as fitting her position (now forming part of the public face of the Royal family).
