She really has very nice designs and taste when it comes to shoes.

I think that she doesn't go very far with her hats as well because she is a petite woman and a very wide-rimmed hat would perhaps not look very good on her. I think that the larger and grander hats are more suited to a taller woman. Much of it has to do with scale and proportion.

Can we say STYLISH PRINCESS? I can only hope that Mary can meet Alexandra's beautiful style.

I LOVE the Light Blue purse that she carried for the 60th BDay celebrations of Queen Margarethe - and the Silver (both) box evening purses.... Beautiful.

I don't think that Mary will ever meet Alex's sense of style. They are two very different people, IMO and their particular styles reflect that.

I think that Mary could take a few pointers (if she chose to seek aid from Alex) from Alex in adjusting to public life , protocol, and things of that nature which are very general and in which Alex could help her.

However, when it comes to something concerning style which I believe is a very personal thing, I would hope that Mary would not try to immitate or compete with Alex or any other woman. I hope that she develops her own personal sense of style.

Princess Alexandra always looks so beautiful, but I wonder why she only has one tiara, that she wears at every single gala event. I think the Royal Family should get her one more and then she could mix up her style a bit at these gala events.

She only possession of the one tiara. I haven't seen her ever wear any other. I think that if she were going to borrow another it would be from her mother-in-law, but either Queen Margrethe isn't responsive to that suggestion or Alexandra may simply not be bothered enough by having one tiara to borrow another or accept if Queen Margrethe has offered.

I think that another one has not been purchased by Alexandra or her husband because as I stated, the one may suit Alex just fine or for financial reasons. I wonder about the issue of finances particularly because I have noticed that since her marriage Alex has acquired other jewelry. However, it is unlikely that any of the new pieces cost nearly as much as that of the price of a new tiara.

Alexandra and Joachim are more than comfortable financially. Joachim receives 2 million Kroner per annum. Plus they have a profitable working farm/estate and hotel, from which they derive the bulk of their income. A few years ago (5?) their personal worth was estimated at about $12 million (not kroner).

Based off of what I've seen at Christies or Sotheby's, a cute, small tiara would not be more then a few thousand, which is what a nice necklace could end up costing.

I guess she has to take into consideration the cut, quality, and clarity of the stones too. A princess can't go around in inferior quality stones either. :P

Details :) :-P

So, do you guys think we will see a new gala dress for the ceremonies leading up to Frederik's wedding, or will she recycle some of her pretty, albeit previously worn, gala dresses?

Personally, I think we will see new gowns, and quite possibly some new jewels too. After all, this is a historical event for the Danes. More specifically, with Mary being given new jewels, etc. I think Alexandra may be given some new items too, as M & H may not want her to feel 'left out'.

Yay for new dresses! Maybe a new tiara she can borrow? (Or did you mean earrings/necklace/brooch when you said Jewels?)

Princess Alexandra would look beautiful in a burlap sack - so care must be taken that she does not "outshine" the bride and future crown princess. I think Alexandra is the most elegant of her generation.

true, but that shouldn't mean that she should never get any new things.

Was the purple dress she wore in her offical pictures at the Royal House website a dress she's worn to any galas? Or is it considered a "new" dress?
