Summer in Mallorca 2008: Official photoshoot in Marivent

This thread is intended to carry all the pictures related to the annual photoshoot by the Spanish Royal Family at Marivent, at a date to be announced.

There is nothing official, but the general idea of the press that is in Mallorca is that this year this session of photos will not take place.

The Princes and the Infantas are going to cross in their trips and it seems to be slightly probable that they all coincide at the same time in Mallorca. The Princes have to be on the 8th in China, and on the 15th the Prince must be in America for two changes of Government. The Dukes of Palm will replace the Princes in China, and the Infanta Elena will go to the Paralympic Games.

In this occasion, it seems that the photo depends principally on if the Dukes of Palma decide to return of their vacations before the 8th or not.

I read that the Dukes of Palm are in Mozambique with their children, and they will go to Mallorca on 9th.

Maybe the photoshoot this year is only the king,the Queen and princes of Asturias, although I have read that perhaps this year has not photoshoot.

I think that is a tradition so they should make the photosession every year!

It's not really a tradition. If I recall correctly it was started in this form because of the huge media interest in Leonor and it was done in 2006 for the first time as a full family shoot and continued in 2007. I won't miss it if it doesn't happen to be honest as I thought that the last two occasions weren't really nice. It was telling that no adult family member actually enjoyed it - do they ever - but they all put a brave face on and that was it. In 2006 Letizia was in the early stages of her second pregnancy and looked ill to put it politely, Felipe was dread tired from his trips to south america and let's not mention the non-interaction between other family members. In 2007 it was a bit better but not much, all in all a very forced occasion therefore a good idea to scrap. There are always lots of opportunities to take nice pictures of the SRF during the summer, everybody will show up at some stage, why not leave it there.

Well.....I hope that this year we also see the photoshoot of the spanish royal family, many of us are eager to see this great family, especially the kids. It is always a pleasure to see them.

I am very interested to see if Letizia appears in a bathing suit. I have a feeling she is pregnant and I am dying to find out if I am correct.

Again??? No; I don't think so. She had had very hard pregnancies and when you delivers two childs by ceare, it's very dangerous to became pregnant a third time, at least so close to the last birth...

Vanesa, that's what was thought years ago.
But here gynecologists have said that if elapses more than one year after the last caesaria there is no problem with a third caesaria.

Letizia is a very warm mother. I think her daughters should be lucky and happy to have so a mother.

They did, the pic caused quite a furore as I remember it. I never saw the picture tho...

I sincerely hope there is a Photoshoot this year as well. I love to see the whole family, especially the children.

Well Letizia and Filipe are going away tomorrow for Beijin so if there is going to be a photoshoot in Marivent, with them, it must be today

so they will not appear this time in the photos!

What I heard is that IF there is a Photoshoot it would be in the end of August. Because Infanta Elena, this year had to split her children´s holydays between Jaime (the firrst half) and herself. And Infanta Cristina is still in Mozambique, but probably will be returning soon. This is an atypical year, because of the Olympics and also due to the new circumstances in Infanta Elena´s life.

Will the rest of the SRF go to the Olympics too? I thought they all go each time.
