Who started the fight and why?

It's time for a little Dennisficating...

I'll start out with what Yennie put down:

In an unassuming and sneaky (confused by that one. I thought it was going to be a "place to eat outside) and in a great hurry there was a place named Café Opera which was the probable choice when Princess Madeleine went out but the place was too dangerous?

Quite rightly she went to the Café together with boyfriend(and good football player!) Jonas Bergström and also with pals Natalie Rosta and her boyfriend Dag Werner. The party(group of people) saw a sea of people.(lojt? listless and world something. 40 compounds for world in my dictionary but not that one. Bu!) So they didn't go in as we find out later.

Could do nothing

Princess Madeleine was in a tavern with her mates, entertaining themselves when a fight broke out between her former boy friend Erik Granada and her present boyfriend, Jonas Bergström.

Princess Madeleine couldn't do anything.

They were on the dance floor when suddenly a fight broke out(utbröt. Shakes head) between Jonas Bergström and her ex, Erik Granath.

-It is no secret that they hate each other, said a friend of the princess.

The restaurant-fight occurred at the nightclub Kharma in central Stockholm on Saturday night.(I'm confused. I thought it was at Cafe Opera) Princess Madeleine arranged to invite to the restaurant(or for organized drinking?) her friends Veronica Arph, Sofie Stenbeck and Charlotte Köning.

At this place already, was Madeleine's ex boyfriend, Erik Granath.

He walked up to her, annoy her and then embraced her with Jonas next to her, according to a statement to the Aftonbladet.(I think)

Picked a fight

-That started the brawl with each other. It was not a nice mood then if I may say so, says a source(Brilliant).

According to eyewitnesses, Erik cursed at Jonas for his behavior? and this led to the start of the fight with the princess' current boyfriend.

-It is no secret that Jonas and Erik hate each other. They can't stand each other on the whole, says a friend of the princess.

After a moment, attentive bouncers broke up the fight. They escorted Erik out of the tavern.

On Friday night Madeleine was supposed to celebrate at Cafe Opera. But since that place was so crowded, she was dissuaded to go there by her security detail. The princess instead choose to go out the next night with her friends.

But this ceased to be as it intended.(Night didn't turn out the way they wanted). The Aftonbladet has learned that Erik Granada is not completely over the idea that his relationship with the princess is over.

-I feel that we are dealing with, on the whole, a matter of jealousy. Madeleined feels that such situations are most embarassing, said a friend of the princess.

Aftonbladet searched for Erik but couldn't find him or couldn't get a response from him.

The Swedish security police were compelled to intervene in the well-known club Kharma

Madeleine ended up in the middle of the bar fight.


Pandemonium started with a violent word-battle(Word-rotation, literally) between current boyfriend Jonas and ex-boyfriend Erik.

The Princess' bodyguards were compelled to stop the fight and Erik directly left the trendy nightclub in Stureplan in central Stockholm.


Pandemonium played out in Kharma until Sunday.

Several hundred people saw this.

Princess Madeleine went out with her boyfriend. The pair and their friends frequent a bar or tavern every weekend and found themselves in a section of Kharma that night.

The Princess and Jonas arrived at the scene a little after midnight. Each gender were there and they were on holiday.(Not getting the second part. Something about the party being waved at or coming over.)

Madeleine had her own civilain-clothed bodyguards there and they went straight to the locked vip sections of Kharma.

-They were ordinarily large and nice and were rather well-behaved. said another guest.

But when Madeleine's ex-boyfriend Erik arrived, a big commotion soon arose.
They used to be together and Erik visited the Princess when she was in London. But last year she and he broke up and shortly thereafter, she started to date Jonas. It was an irritating or heated mood.

-Madeleine and Erik openly fought with each other. There was smoke(fire) when Erik and Jonas are together and it let to a fight says, an eyewitness.

Another eyewitness said it started when Erik nudged Jonas.

A bitter verbal fight soon arose.

-It was all so embarassing and it looked like the Princess wanted to sink into the earth.(Disappear, I suppose) said an eyewitness.
The guards in Madeleine's party broke it up and Erik was escorted from Kharma.
-He was becoming what plainly was a problem, said one witness.
Jan Jonsson of the security police said yesterday evening:

-The matter was handled before it became messy. But as a matter of principle we never safely protect the royal children.(that can't be right. Strange sentence. I must have misread it. It could be that they never blame the royal children)

Expressen contacted the owner of Kharma, Robert Hållstrand who was in the restaurant last night:

-I never talked about the guests that we have.
Did you see the fight?
-I will not comment on the Princess or her guests who were here last night.(something like that)


Erik Granath, denied that he was drunk at Kharma:
-There was no fight in Kharma. Me and my mates were standing in the bar when we saw Madeleine come in. That's when I walked over to greet her. I had not seen her for a year. I barely saw Jonas, continued Granath.

You were becoming an issue?

-Honestly, I don't remember how I came over there or from there?

Spokewoman Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg said this when we tried to contact the princess:

- I have nothing to illuminate further on what happened.

News: Now Expressen has asked Madeleine and she said, that there wasn´t a fight...and a friend of Madeleine says, that she wouldn´t admit that, because otherwise she would be forced of her parents to stay at home...the royal couple should be really angry about the whole affair...
I´m about a half year older than Madeleine...and if my parents would try to force me to stay at home I would laugh at them, even when they would threat me to stop the money transfer...Actually they couldn´t do this, because I don´t live at home anymore, and it´s the same with Madeleine...so I guess this is again a made-up story of EXPRESSEN.

Detta sedan före detta pojkvännen Erik Granath hamnat i hätsk ordväxling med hennes nuvarande pojkvän Jonas Bergström.
- Kungen och Silvia blir rosenrasande när sådant här inträffar, säger en vän till prinsessan.


Det var i lördags natt som bråket bröt ut inne på trendiga kändiskrogen Kharma vid Stureplan i Stockholm.
Madeleine och pojkvännen Jonas Bergström satt vid ett av borden inne i vipavdelningen på stället.
I närheten fanns prinsessans civilklädda livvakter.
- Alla kungabarn har vakter när de är ute på krogen. Det är en väldigt svår miljö att ha total uppsikt över, säger en källa på Säpo.
Strax före midnatt anlände Madeleines expojkvän Erik Granath till Kharma.

Flera vittnen
Vad som sedan hände finns det flera vittnen till. Männen hamnade i en hätsk ordväxling, och enligt ett vittne ska Erik Granath ha knuffat till Jonas Bergström.
Expressen träffade i går prinsessan Madeleine utanför pojkvännen Jonas Bergströms lägenhet på Gärdet i Stockholm.
- Jag förstår inte varifrån de här uppgifterna om att de skulle ha bråkat kommer. Jonas och Erik såg inte ens varandra.
- Jonas stod med sina kompisar och jag med mina. Erik kom fram till mig och sa hej och vi bytte några ord med varandra. Mer än så var det inte, säger Madeleine.
Prinsessan poängterar att hon inte umgås med sin före detta pojkvän Erik Granath. Men att förhållandet mellan dem är vänskapligt när de möts ute i Stockholms krogliv.
- Självklart vill Madeleine inte kännas vid det som hände i lördags. Det är just den här typen av händelser som gör att hon får problem med mamma och pappa, berättar en vän till prinsessan.

Svärtas ner
Denne fortsätter:
- Kungen och Silvia blir rosenrasande när sådant här inträffar. Madeleine är som alltid oskyldig, men svärtas ändå ner när någon i hennes närhet gör något dumt.
Vännen är övertygad:
- Hon kommer att få en rejäl utskällning och troligtvis utegångsförbud i någon månad. Trist, då hon inte har gjort något.
Erik Granath förnekade i gårdagens Expressen att han skulle ha varit inblandad i ett handgemäng med Madeleines nuvarande pojkvän.

One question: None of the stories explained why Erik and Jonas hate each other? Is it because Erik is just jealous or doesn't want Madeline to be dating Jonas? Or do these two have a deeper history with one another aside from the Madeline thing?

I think it's just because of Madeleine. They both want her. Besides, I'm pretty sure we would all hate Erik if we knew him. He doesn't strike me as the nicest person...

Thank Cissan. I wasn't sure if there was some history I was missing about Erik and Jonas. And you're right, Erik doesn't seem like a very nice person if he is horning in on his ex-girlfriend's relationship and picking fights with her present boyfriend. I guess maybe he thought it would get Madeline back ...

According to reports in Swedish newspapers 04 February 2004, several "madmen" have lately shown abnormal interest in the princess by sending her letters and trying to contact her in different ways. The Swedish security police, SAPO, is now giving her armed escort when she is outdoors. Such security is normaly only given to the Prime Minister, the King and Crown Princess Victoria.

Stoppade krogbesök

– De gjorde bedömningen att hennes säkerhet kunde vara i fara om hon gick in. Det var alldeles för mycket folk där, berättar en källa.
Tidigare har Madeleine inte haft livvakter från Säpo när hon har varit ute på Stockholms-krogarna.
Däremot har prinsessan det senaste halvåret eskorterats av en säkerhetsvakt från ett privat företag när hon rört sig på stan.

Bråk med ex-pojkvän
I lördags natt besökte prinsessan Madeleine innekrogen Kharma i Stockholm.
Enligt ögonvittnen hamnade Madeleines pojkvän Jonas Bergström och hennes ex-pojkvän Erik Granath i bråk.
Säpo bekräftar att deras livvakter var med prinsessan Madeleine under kvällen.
– Vi var där med henne, men mer än så kan jag inte kommentera, säger Anders Kassman, chef för Säpos personskyddsrotel.

Behov av skydd
Enligt lagen har Säpo bara skyldighet att bevaka statsministern, kungen och kronprinsessan Victoria.
– Men när Säpo anser att de övriga medlemmarna i kungafamiljen har behov av skydd så ställer de upp, säger Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg.
Har Madeleine behov av skydd just nu?
– Uppenbarligen har hon det eftersom Säpo tycker det, säger Tarras-Wahlberg.
Prinsessan Madeleine är inte ensam om att vara utsatt i kungafamiljen. Kronprinsessan Victoria har i perioder haft utökat Säpo-skydd.
När hon i fjol var på resa i Västergötland skyddades hon av ett massivt polisuppbåd.
De spanade efter fem män som alla visat ett sjukligt intresse för henne.



Madeleine stalked by madmen


Madeleine is being followed and lives under a serious threat or they are following the threat seriously.

Presently, the SAPO guards are protecting Madeleine.

-Apparently, she needs protection(or shelter. Hmmm) says spokeswoman Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg.


Aftonbladet can reveal today that Princess Madeleine lives under a serious threat and needs the protection of Säpo.

One sources tells us that several men have had a rather large interest in the young princess.

They have sent letters and tried to contact Madeleine in several different ways.

-They are morbidly obsessed with her. I know that Madeleine thinks these situations are very unpleasant although she is attempting to not to contemplate about these madmen too much, says a source.

Therefore Madeleine will now have armed bodyguard from Säpo when she goes out into public.

On Friday, she and friends were going to visit the Café Opera in Stockholm where there is one large room but the Sapo dissuaded the princess for going there.

They evaluated that the situation(crowded place, one big room) was not safe so they persuaded her not to go in. There were completely too many people there, says a source.

Madeleine did not have a bodyguard from Säpo when she went out to the Stockholm restaurant.

The last 6 months the princess has been escorted by a private owned company when she has been in town.

On Saturday night, Princess Madeleine went to the restaurant/bar Kharma in Stockholm.

There she saw a fight between current boyfriend Jonas Bergström and ex-boyfriend
Erik Granath.

Säpo is confirming that they had a bodyguard with princess Madeleine that night.

– We were there with her. We can't comment further., says Andes Till , Säpos spokesman(spokesman for the personnel department?)

According to Säpo, they only protects the prime minister , the king and Crown Princess Victoria.

But Säpo says that in the remaining talks with the royal family, they will address the issue of whether or not the royal family needs more protection. says Elisabeth Tarras Wahlberg.(I think)

Does Madeleine need protection now?

- Apparently, she does need some from the Säpo, says Tarras-Wahlberg.


Princess Madeleine is not alone in being exposed in the family. Crown Princess Victoria has also had periods of increased protection as well from Säpo.

When, last winter, she visited Västergötland(Western Sweden, near Goteborg) she had an increased police protection.(That was the first trip after the death of Anna Lindh.)

They are looking for the 5 men with the unhealthy(No comments, please) interest in Princess Madeleine.
