Wedlock is another term for marrige. Basically, children born to parents who are not married (i.e. Albert) versus children born within a marriage (i.e. Charles, Frederick, Joachim, etc.). In some instances, these children are not the eligible for succession (again Albert's son). Although in the past in Monaco, these children have been legitimized. But that's another thread :)

Thanks a lot, so Victoria and the others have to pay attention to be married bevore they got kids. Then this children will not have any problems.
Tho its quite normal today that women get kids without being married.

Yes you are right it is not unsual for women to have children before marriage but if members of the Swedish Royal Family want children to inherit the throne they must be born to married parents.

Yes Yennie you are right and of course any children born would not be entitled to inherit the throne.

According to this article in Expressen http://www.expressen.se/index.jsp?a=582233

Emma has sold her apartment on Valhallavägen and moved in with prince Carl Philip in his apartment on Slottsbacken. Ofcourse she can´t live there "officially" so on the paper she stays at her parents house.

The royal court wont comment on the prince and Emmas whereabouts and says that; We wont comment individuals or acquaintances of members of the royal family

Rumours says that a engagement is coming, but Carl Philip and Emma has to wait until Victoria and Daniel are engaged

So perhaps one wedding will be held next spring and another in the summer. Or one wedding will be held early summer and the other late summer? What do you lot think? And who knows may be Princess Madeleine and Jonas in 2008?!

Thank you for the article Yennie. How is your driving going? I passed my practical this morning, at last!

I dont think they would plan two weddings in the same year because it would simply be to expensive (remember the kings birthday was a reason not to have the wedding this year)
And perhaps the attention wouldn´t be enough to make sure its even between the sibs

Gita; my driving is put on a hold until the summer. Simply to busy with school at the moment... congrats to you for passing the test!

Cool Sibling squabbles

I seriously hope there have been not squabbles at the palace between the siblings. "No Dad I want to marry first!"

I´ve heard rumours that Victoria will marry Daniel in summer 2007.
So if CP and Emma also will marry, we can hope to two weddings, following near by each other.
That means, perharps, nice pictures on TV.
Or won´t the weddings be on TV?:(

Well, I don't think that they will marry that soon after Victoria and Daniel Westling. A Royal Wedding is a very big and expensive event, that must be prepared carefully. And of course it is good PR for the Royal House what means they will place the weddings very thoughtful, so that every wedding gets full attention. I guess that Carl Philip and Emma will have their wedding 2 years after Victoria's wedding.

You are right Lilou, Haakon and Mette-Marit wed on August 2001, and Martha Louise married Ari in May 2002. So why not close weddings for Victoria and Carl Philip?

Well it does cost alot of money so two weddings back to back is pretty hard on the budget.

Perhaphs one wedding could be held in May or June and the other in August or September 2007? Then Madeleine and Jonas in 2008!

Money. I don't think that Swedish RF can make two weddings of the King's children in one year. Specially if one of them will be a wedding of the future Queen.

Yeah so its more economical to spread out the weddings between a 3 year period.
