Expressen quotes the article in Svensk Damtidning
Carl Philip and Sofia have been looking for two churches in Öland during the summer.
- They looked at churches earlier this summer. They visited both Räpplinge church and Gärdslösa church, says Damtidning's source.
Räpplinge church is the royal family's summer parish church. Victoria's confirmation was held there in 1992. Princess Margaretha and John Ambler were married in June 1964 at Gärdslösa church. Also Princess Madeleine and Jonas Bergström had plans to tie the knot there.
Anna Lundin Leander is vicar of northern Öland parish.
- We haven't received any official request from the royal family as for the wedding church. The wedding would be a huge thing and would probably require a large security. Of course we are happy if they should get married here, but their visit to the churches might have meant that they wanted to follow the family's roots with weddings and confirmations.
Church porter Tommy Olsson says:
- I haven't seen the prince and Sofia, but the churches have been open all summer, so they may have been looking them on their own.
Mayor of Borgholm Lisbeth Lennartsson says it would be wonderful with a royal wedding.
- The Crown Princess Couple has got their house ready and they seem to thrive. They are allowed to be private here in Öland. It is very positive for Öland if Prince Carl Philip and Sofia are getting married here. There is plenty of hotel capacity for all guests.
The Deputy Director of the press department Annika Sönnerberg says:
- I haven't been informed of what Prince has done in his leisure time in the summer.
