They meet (as far as is known) at Swedish Open in Båstad 2009, that is the 2nd week of July so it should be about 17 months now.

Why should we compare it to his previous relationship? Not long enough for what?
He was with Emma for what 10 years and never married her.
CP could be incredible happy with Sofia and propose next week. If it feels right, then it's right.

Wonder what happens after all that "scandal"-talking about his father lately if he would become engaged to her just now....

Sorry but CP should give up his rights as a prince, if he wants to marry Sofia!
Monarchy becomes laughable if girls (and of course boys) like her can be princess.
That sounds snobby, I know. But why should the Swedish people pay taxes for someone whos naked body is now well known? And it´s not the same with Daniel. He is the only male member who isn´t embarrassing at the moment.
And what I heard is that the Swedes aren´t glad either about it.

Totally agree with,if continues that's way ,i mean if princes marry silly girls which could just a naked body to demonstrate than it's very unpleasant,as monarchy loses its prestigious role.
But if these are true feelings of love, then it's their choice.

I doubt that you would find any males who marry into royalty having a scandal relating to them posing nude. Highly unlikely. Other scandals yes but that particular one no.

An article about "The love nest" of Carl Philip and Sofia: Over three years have passed since the prince inherited Bertil Jonsén who died at 82 years of age. Among the assets of the former naval officer bequeathed to HRH Prince Carl Philip was Desert farm - with its 98 hectares of forest and agricultural land. Big renovation job is now finished and Carl Philip and Sofia have been often seen at the estate.

If he decides to marry her and the Swedes say they don't want her as a Princess, it becomes a very problematic situation.
Either CP will either give up his title, loose his place in line for succesion, alienate himself from his family and have to do something with his life. Which if Victoria isn't pregnant, puts the line of succesion into trouble as it goes to a Princess who spends most of her time in NY getting tanned.
If he doesn't give up his title for Sofia, that's going to damage the monarchy as well. He will be shown as a very uncaring and unloving person, IMO.

I will admit that I don't like Sofia very much and I think that she is too well known for the rather troublesome things she has done, I have to question what does he see in her??
If he was to ask Sofia to marry him then I think he is going to have a really hard time trying to convince the people that she is the best for this royal family... I think that if he wants Sofia then he has to give a little and that may mean his line to the thrown ( I honestlty think he doesn't want to be a royal anymore) If so then this little boy prince will have a reality check and have to grow up a little and fight for his living instead of what he gets now.
If he marries her and is aloud to be Prince then it is Sofia who is going to need to wake up and realise that this isn't going to be a walk in the park for a princess so close to the crown.

I think as things stand he'll have to choose between Sofia and his position. He is currently second in line, and (I've said this further up the thread so apologies for the repetition) Daniel and Victoria don't have health/age on their side. I hope they have lots of V/D babies but IF they don't the line goes through CP - how rubbish does it sound if the future monarch is the child of a former topless model?
No matter how much charity work she does now or in the future THAT picture with the snake is going to be reprinted until her dying day (whether she's a royal or not). It's up to her how much work she's willing to do to establish herself as suitable princess material but designing yoga clothes for kids doesn't go far enough IMO!
Interesting to see how this one plays out!

Agree with this and for the sake of monarchy in Sweden I really hope Victoria is or will be pregnant really soon so both CP and Madde are pushed down the succession line.

Don't think so, from what I read most people will be only happy that he finally got some common sense. Not likely to happen though.

At the moment the connection giving the impression of becoming closer than ever before. Joint "Love nest" goes already pretty much in the direction of a very serious relationship.
If it is getting further this way, then we may have to consider an anouncement within 2011.
I seriously hope, that CP Victoria has something really important to announce beforehand..... this would be the best gift for the Swedes after her fathers scandalous intimacies and a potential conflicting proposal.
On the other hand: it may happen, that people will be exciting on potential news, as they will receive a new member of the royal family -- and even if her past is a very "discussionable" one, she is a beautiful girl and her look may become another "jewel in the crown".
See Catherine Middleton: the British press titled her "Waity Katie", and suddenly after the proposal everybody is completely excited about her. Just my 2 cents, of course.

We could not compare the highly intelligent Kate Middleton with Sofia,Kate comes from not a noble family, but with good school and high education and knowledge of etiquette.

Which means in her case the same as nothing. All that she has accomplished, except of her education, so far was waiting till William gave her the ring. In my book the only difference between Kate and Sofia are the nude pics. Neither of them has accomplished anything in their lives and high education is not a confirmation of high inteligence, you can meet many people without university degree, who are highly intelligent.

Kate has worked for Jigsaw and her parents business, which is not something I would call "nothing accomplished" Apart from Kate's degree which is a 2/1 and so not too bad, either

Not sure what exactly is "Jigsaw", what I found through google is that it should be a spam based business. And didn't her parents business run into problems for selling personal data of their clients to third companies?

^ i think Jigsaw is a clothing business owned by friends of the family (kate's), and yes, IMO, the only difference between the two is the nude pictures. Infact, if CP and Sofia get enagaged soon, I would hold her in higher regard because she didnt wait 8 long years for a prince's marriage proposal

No, Kates parents company didn't run into problems for selling personal data.
