But if the Swedish people accept her, and she proves herself to add something to the SRF - we shouldn't have any objection to that.
It might not be right to compare Sofia to the likes of Letizia, MM or Camilla because today they are known for their royal behaviour. But when they became engaged to their respective husband, they had history and at the time their history was as shocking as Sofia's adventures. Question - do people think that Sofia's adventures are as bad the 3rd in line to a throne possible marrying a woman whose father has possible ties to Robert Mugabe? Granted these ties don't affect the woman directly but would you rather have naked pictures in the family album or RM?
I am not congratulating her on posing with a snake or kissing Jenna Jameson but I am saying that continually going over her exploits and re-telling how disgusting they are, or how shocked you are by them isn't doing any good to anything.

Well said, LumutQueen. I was lucky enough not to have to go the "actress" route before I met my prince. Maybe that's all she could do. Now is the time to put her past behind us and hope for a relationship for them that is comparable to every other happy couple out in the world...married or not; royal or not.

I've been saying this for the longest. There is no comparison between the three, except their commoner status. I don't get why that's so hard to understand. Being wild, getting divorced, having a child out of wedlock, being a married man's mistress is not the same as someone posing nude. It's a completely different field.

But the Hellqvist photos I have seen are neither...they are cheap and extremely smutty looking. They are pornographic and distasteful.

In the appalling one I just saw Friday she is sitting on the floor completely naked with her legs slightly apart and her one hand casually but strategically placed. She has an almost drugged look on her face.

Never in a million years would I believe her as part of the same Royal House that gave the world Princess Astrid, later Queen of the Belgians..never.

If C-P insists on having this girl as his wife, he should relinquish his titles and live quietly with her as a private citizen.

If I was a Swedish noble or even a citizen, there is no way I would ever be able to pay reverence to her.

Can we please stop comparing Sofia and Carl Philip's relationship/past to other royals? They do not have the same positions as anyone else, and the Swedish monarchy is different to the Spanish, Norwegian, etc. As is applicable in the reverse.

And remember that one of the TRF rules is to treat other members with respect - if that doesn't happen, this thread may find itself closed in the future.

Whatever people say on bloggs, twitter and forums the truth is: Most people older than 40 still rather read tabloids and watch the news on TV and dont care about what the "truth" on the Internet is. People over 60 think that there is only hatred in different forums and have created witchhunts already. They belive that the photos were taken a long time ago and that Sofia have changed. After all, most Swedes will not even see the pictures as they dont read foregin tabloids. When the engagement is announced Sweden will be happy once again.

Just search for Hey Baberiba + familjen on youtube and find out why most Swedes feel that Carl-Philip can marry whoever he chooses, many of them angry over the treatment he gets from comedians.

matte74...the photo I saw Friday that shocked me so was definitely NOT taken a long time ago..from looking Sofia's face in the photo it looked to have been taken in the last two or three years. It wasn't an old photo.

Whether she has "changed" or not is beside the point. She cannot make the images disappear...what exactly about her has "changed?" She made the decision fairly recently to exploit herself and her body in that manner and she was obviously quite proud of it...until she moved on to the greener pastures that marrying a Royal Prince would present for her.

That is what has "changed" about SH, imo.

Not introduced? She was invited to Haga for the kings 65th birthday. Not confirmed? Tennert said that they were sambos
