These photos which are in question now, are taken before the photos with the snake.

I just googled her and some of the stuff she has done has been really tawdrey. There was one pic of her topless and covering her "you not what" with her hand. To think of her becoming a Princess and an HRH is just a joke. If he wants to marry her I think he should give up his title as the general public are quite accepting of a lot of things but there has to be some standards or what's the point of Royalty. I wouldn't even watch this wedding as I really like the SRF and, IMO, it would make them a laughing stock. Out of all the women in the world is this really the best C-P can do?

I just wonder if she is worthy of the title princess of Sweden.

Sofia is certainly more controversial than most of the women marrying into Swedish royal family before her.
However, it's still quite premature to debate on her suitability since no engagement has been announced.
I will say this though; I find it hypocritical that a young woman who posed for unfortunate (and granted, very tacky) pictures to earn for living, is judged harsher than a Monarch who embarks on a luxurious and highly unethical safari during times of economical troubles. Many of the current royals have done things in their lives which, for me at least, are as controversial as Sofia's decisions. That's probably why I'm willing to give her a chance.
Then again, I'm not a Swede - and it will ultimately be up to them to accept or reject Sofia, if an engagement is announced.

I have difficulties to understand how her parents let her pose to these Sjöberg photos, when she was only sixteen...

Me too. She wasn't that poor to need make money like that. It was her personal choice and for me it speaks a lot about Sofia.

I agree about the parents; no way would mine allow me to pose for pictures like that at sixteen.

It was also a personal choice of Sofia Hellqvist less than four years ago to pose again in the full nude in New York; the setting and character of those photos manage to be even sleazier than those of earlier nude and half-nude photo sessions.
In order to talk tacheles and call a spade a spade, they're simply soft porn with a fetish touch.

I am not famous or Royal and yet if any of my two sons got in tow with this lady or anyone like her I would pray for the relationship to end. We can therefore imagine how Queen Silvia in her position must feel. But on saying that I am surprised at C-P himself. My own husband said he thought her very attractive but that no way would he ever marry a woman who had shown, as he said, "her bits and pieces" to the world and I doubt that he is alone among men in thinking that.

He's probably not. Sexism and slut-shaming are pretty common unfortunately; that doesn't make them acceptable though.
Sofia made a choice to take part in a legal activity that didn't hurt anyone in any way. It doesn't make her unworthy of love.
I will always hate seeing women participating in denigrating other women for their sexuality.

Sofia has damaged herself all on her own as it seems that no one forced her into such a seedy life.

Well as my mother always said "you can always count on a woman to try and knock another woman down".

It's not sexism. If Prince Daniel had posed naked with a snake or with his hands tied together do you think that no-one would have said anything? There would have been headlines everywhere. Like it or not, Sofia's past behaviour is not seen as entirely conventional by society and will be a topic should she and Prince Carl Philip get engaged.
Simply posing naked doesn't make her a bad person, of course but I personally find her behaviour attention seeking. Announcing on Twitter you're dating the Prince? Talking to the media about their relationship? A 'makeover' program while they are just dating? That can be called unwise at best.

And THAT is a much longer conversation about sexism and how it works and I won't take over the thread with it. But let me just point out: men's bodies and men's sexuality is not commodified in the same way women's is and Prince Daniel would never have been approached with a similar job offer.
And let me point out once more: it's legal work that doesn't hurt anyone and I think it's a poor reason to write someone off as inferior.

I've been thinking the same thing. I once saw a documentary call Young Royals and when the interviewer asked him what he did with his day he said "I play video games". That was a long time ago I'm just hoping he finds something substantial to do with his life rather than "race car driving" and dating Sofia. I do
wish them the best.

Didn't he just graduate school and has since been filling in for Victoria while she's on maternity leave?

Obviously the only event he filled in for Victoria was when he was at the airport welcoming Charles and Camilla, maybe yesterday when also he was on the airport when the finnish president left. The others of his work engagements are his own I think.

My goodness. As conservative as I am, I have to agree with you, Hermione. CP is no longer 2nd in line and within a few years, he will probably be 5th in line, which leads me to the conclusion that he should have the freedom to marry whom he wishes.

Yes he does. If you want to pop over to his currents events thread, you can see what he does.
