Having seen Mette Marit's wedding dress. Disliked it as soon as I saw it. Hope her dress is nothing like that. I wonder if Sofia will surprise us all? I expect she will either go for satin, or lace.

Last week's Expressen Extra promoted their article about the wedding
"That is how Sofia wants to get married - really
Extra's source: wants something different"
Nytt nummer av magasinet EXTRA | Om Expressen | Expressen

I haven't seen any articles in swedish, german or finnish press quoting this article, so I don't know what was written in it.

I doubt Sofia is going to get a dress like any other lady we've seen recently...she could go something vintage though and pull it off.

'Vintage' wedding dress? You mean a 30's type of gown aka Norman Hartnell/Jean Harlow?

Please not, no strapless gown. Especially not from a royal bride (or in this case a bride who marries into the royal family).

What is it with strapless gowns that appeals so much to people?

Not sure Skippy. They were completely played out at least a decade ago.

In any case a strapless bridal gown...for a Royal bride...in what will likely be a Cathedral wedding ceremony...would be kind of tacky.

I don't like strapless dresses either, but concerning the church, a coat or bolero would solve that problem.

Thinking more Grace Kelly style.

Do you think Sofia will use hibiscus flowers in her bridal boquet?

I have found the dress!

This dress has always impressed me. Of course, the bride is exquisite - that helps.

The groom ain't half bad, either.

Once again we agree Lady Nimue!

Lauren Bush had one of the most beautiful celeb bridal gowns ever. My other two favorites are Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton....stunning.

It helps that the photographer did an outstanding job, too!

I agree. The photography is also superb. (Mr Lauren is yummy, as well! Reminds me a bit of Madeleine's Chris O'Neill.)

No, of course not, because the royal family has been on a summer holiday in different places in Sweden and Europe. They will return to Stockholm during the weekend. The director of the press department, Margareta Thorgren, has said to the press many times that the planning of the wedding starts in the autumn.

If Prince Carl Philip wears a uniform on his wedding day, which uniform might he choose?

"Naval Reserve Officer

Prince Carl Philip completed his military service with the Amphibious Battalion of Vaxholm's Coast Artillery Regiment and is trained as a combat boat commander (combat boat 90). In 2001-2002 the Prince completed a Naval Officer training course.
During this time he participated in a long voyage with the mine-laying vessel HMS Carlskrona. Prince Carl Philip became a Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Swedish Navy in December 2002. The Prince achieved the rank of Lieutenant in December 2007 in Stockholm."

"Swedish National Defence College

During the autumn of 2007, Prince Carl Philip studied at the Swedish National Defence College. In spring 2008, the Prince read business economics and continued with his military education."

Biography - Sveriges Kungahus [NS4 version]

So I'm guessing he'll wear a Navy officer's uniform.

Since Carl Philip is a Naval Reserve Officer and has worn the Navy uniform at Victoria's and Madeleine's wedding, I think he wears it also at his own wedding.
