01-10-2014 Blijdorp Queen Maxima attend the symposium platform Wijzer in Geldzaken at the ‘’eauditorium’’ of Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam. The Queen’s speech was about promoting responsible financial behavior. Research shows that people with good financial skills have better control over their personal development and finance.

It is wonderful that the Queen has also attention for people with disabilities or "a distance to the labour market".

The Coat-of-Arms at the beginning of this thread is not the one which was granted to Máxima. The Dutch heraldic tradition gives for an unmarried lady a lozenge shield, for a married lady an oval shield.

These are the correct Coat-of-Arms of Queen Máxima, as a married lady she as an oval shield:

The Coat-of-Arms on top shows a shield which is worn by males and was given to the Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane. What happened? Why do these girls not have a lozenge shield? The reason was the gender neutral succession since 1983. For the first time in the history of the House of Orange-Nassau no difference was made for eventual sons or daughters.

The arms of Princess Juliana between 1909 and 1937 (as an unmarried lady): a lozenge shield: http://afbeeldingen.gahetna.nl/naa/thumb/500x500/e620fb5d-baef-1a44-27c6-0f80a3f648d5.jpg

Here you see a genealogical tree with the male arms in "male shape" and the female arms in oval shape: https://lh4.ggpht.com/9j_HOTiritBk_...S-mI3_68q-nTG6F51DNe3tPwsw9uNa32R0PSqYNHyk=s0

Suggestion: replace the Coat of Arms at the beginning of the treads about Queen Máxima with the correct one.

:previous:I so like this gown she is wearing, the lace is so pretty and she looks like she is having the time of her life. The shawl, the jewelry and even her hair looks great. All together a great look for the evening and just where is that handsome husband? Home watching the girls.......good dad.:lol::lol:

Not liking the hair...usually I really don't care but I think it was styled incorrectly for the (windy?) weather.

Two weeks ago, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands sat politely through a talk on high tech toilets while visiting Japan.
Today, she was back on the factory floor as she toured a cheese co-operative close to Utrecht and opened Cono Cheesemaker's new building.
But although she had competition from a teetering stack of Beemster cheese wheels, all eyes were on the royal, who was glamorous in an all-gold ensemble.

Queen Maxima of The Netherlands lived up to her royal style icon status in a bright plum ensemble as she attended an agricultural event in Ultretch today.
The Dutch royal, 43, wore a matching voluminous blouse and A-line skirt in hues of vibrant plum as she smiled and waved at onlookers while making her way inside the building.
She accessorised her outfit with a purple bangle, bold gold leaf-design necklace and patent nude clutch bag and court shoes.

Love the color, but everything else about it is dreadfull.

I would have thought this is an engagement Princess Beatrix would not have parted with.

The Queen looks fantastic and very fitting colours and bijoux, with Queen Fabiola in mind.
