Thank you for the update! In case anybody else does not remember the story, the earlier post on TRF:

A moving moment indeed. The kind lady who got emotional - described by Josine as 'Máxima most faithful fan' - apparently received some bad news earlier this week related to her health.

It seems that HM knew about it already because when the lady offers the flowers, the Queen just opens her arms and says: 'come'. And during the hug she can be overheard whispering: 'I am going to miss you', which brings back a smile. At the end the queen wishes the lady 'strength'.

Apparently it was Josine who kindly signaled the matter to the entourage of the Queen. The lady will be undergoing treatments to battle cancer, which makes it impossible for her to go to the events of the Queen, as she usually does. Let's hope the treatments will be succesful!

Nice to see Máxima meeting with Janet Yellen, US Treasury Secretary and former Federal Reserve Chairman. "U.S. Secretary Yellen commended Queen Máxima’s work to support digital financial inclusion globally. They discussed the importance of consumer protection and education given the expanding complexity and use of digital financial services and digital assets."

That's a far trip from home for only one visit.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation pays for the office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development - so while a long way for one meeting I'm sure she felt it worth it.

She received quite an impressive welcome! Also impressive was her French!

Once the royal couple visited Paris and was given a sightseeing on the river Seine. While the boat sailed, cameras captured a lively conversation of the King and Queen with their hosts. In French.

I wondered how the two of them also mastered French language besides Dutch, English, Spanish and German. Must be their genes. Their daughter Amalia had taken an extra curriculum in Chinese even.

The Queen seems totally in her element when she is on the road for the UN. She is a banker by profession and it is wise that the Court stimulates her to exploi her knowledge, experience and talents. She visibly feels like a fish in the water when she in in the haute finance. I think the Queen would feel trapped like an ornament in a boring golden cage without this role for the UN.

Apparently she said Amalia hoped to accompany her on one of those trips in the future if school allows? Any confirmation?

Heres a nice interview about her UN Interview

Queen Maxima is on Al Jazeera English some times today and tomorrow, talking about the Inclusive Finance issue.

This interview was excellent. She got asked many tough questions yet answered them so well. Gosh, the Netherlands are so so lucky to have her as a Queen. I really relate to her final message about basically finding the time & energy for work that we love.
