Default Names for Willem-Alexander and Maxima's 3rd child

This is the thread to guess, suggest and/or speculate about the name of the new Prince or Princess that will probably be born in April 2007.

If it's a girl, they might call her Margarita (at least I think so), unless they carry on with the tradition of naming their daughters a name, starting with A (Amalia, Alexia).
Any chances she might be called Beatrix after grandmother or Juliana after great grandmother?

Default Princess Armgard / Princess Adelheid

It would be nice to name a girl Armgard or Adelheid (Adelaida):

Princess Amalia
Princess Alexia
Princess Armgard
Princess Adelheid or Adelaida

Armgard would be a nice tribute to Prince Willem-Alexander's great-grandmother Her Serene Highness Princess Armgard Cunegonde Alharda Agnes Oda of Lippe-Biesterfeld born Baroness von Sierstorpff-Cramm-Grieben formerly Countess Bodo von Oeynhausen (1883-1971).

Adelheid would fit as well because Prince Willem-Alexander's "other grandmother" was the high- and wellborn Frau Gösta Julie Adelheid Marion Marie von Amsberg born Baroness von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen (1902-1996).

Another Adelheid was: Her Majesty Queen Adelheid Emma Wilhelmine Therese of the Netherlands born Princess of Waldeck-Pyrmont (1858-1934).

On another board a poster thought that Spanish-speaking family will have difficulties with 'Adelheid' and 'Armgard'. Adelaida sounds better for them.

S.A.R. la Princesa Catharina-Amalia, la Princesa heredera de Orange, Princesa de los Países Bajos, Princesa de Orange-Nassau
S.A.R. la Princesa Alexia de los Países Bajos, Princesa de Orange-Nassau
S.A.R. la Princesa Adelaida de los Países Bajos, Princesa de Orange-Nassau

Well, as Amaryllis doesn't sound like a good choice because the Dutch think of it as a flower -- and given that W-A and Maxima speak English -- they would know that "Armgard" is considered deoderant by English speaking people!! So, I would guess that one is probably out of the running, also.

Avalon, you're kidding right? Margarita, WA's cousin, after all was dis-invited personally by Willem Alexander to his own wedding, he wrote her that he felt it wasn't "opportuun"--a word he misspelled-- if she came to the wedding, what with the falling out the family had over Edwin de Roy van Zuidewijn, Margarita's weirdo of a husband at the time. So why would he honor her now with naming one of his kids, who will be one of the 'spares' for the Dutch throne, after this cousin? Even if she's been welcomed back into the fold?

I sense Maxima putting her foot down when it comes to naming the kids. Amalia is a good choice in my opinion: it's original, well-sounding, not to mention a name with historic significance for the DRF.
Alexia was the wrong choice of name in my opinion. It is a nice name enough in itself, but frankly more for, forgive me for saying this, a stripper of exotic origins than a female who may one day, depending on things, sit on the venerable Dutch throne. Worse perhaps, on top of this, it was the name of one of Beatrix's father's kids squired out of royal wedlock! What a choice!

If it were me, I'd choose some real Dutch names for a girl, like Nienke or Sietske, those are real old Dutch names and beautiful, iconic even. Why go with names that sound so, well, Latin? Sure, Maxima's latin, but let's not forget the position and role these folks are in: they're representing the Dutch throne. it would make sense if their names reflected that. The name Amalia does. Alexia doesn't. I'm not holding my breath that the next name will make sense, but we'll see.

Sietske? Princess Sietske?? For those of you who do not speak dutch, that would be pronounced seatskuh.

Sorry, much as it is a very dutch name, I just can not like it for a Princess.

Me neither. Apart from that, the name is Frisian, not dutch.

-

back to Milou: I doubt it if it was actually named after Princess Marie-Louise. Marie-Louise of Hessen-Kassel was never known as Milou but as Marijke (Meu). Milou is short for Marie-Louise in some cases though, so my guess is that a friend of the couple has the name Milou and they decided to put it in the baptism name of little Zaria. Though Friso could be a die-hard tintin-fan of course...

I do hope that you are right. It would be shameful (and scary ) if a royal prince (or anyone for that matter) would name his child after a comic character, especially a dog character. Though we do have here in Quebec a young actress named Marie-Loup Wolfe («loup» means wolfe in French ). When asked if it's her real name or an artist one, she replies that she was born in the early 70s and that her parents probably smoke some pretty good stuff when they chose her name.

My Tintin quote was a cute joke to lighten up the conversation because I think that we are awfully serious in our name search.

I don't think they will use the name Anne, as it's a very common name. there are alot of girls in the netherlands named Anne, including me

personally I love the names Emma, Sophie and Julia, but these names have also become very common among the people, they're just too normal. I also don't think they will pick a name that is not easy to pronounce by non dutch people, so that's a big no to frisian names :P
although I like names like marieke and femke, they're just not right for a princess.
I don';t think they will pick a normal dutch name, as they didn't with amalia and alexia. (first response from most people to the name catharina-amalia was poor girl.. lol! Although I hated that name in the beginning, I'm used to it now.) I like alexia better.

I really don't know what they will pick, I hope they surprise me, by picking a name like Sophie, although that doesn't sound right with Amalia and Alexia. ugh, I just don;t know!

I think it would be nice to call a little girl Beatrix or a little boy Claus.

When CP Maxima and CP Wilhelm-Alexander are going to finde a name for their new member of their family i have som names for them:

Girl: Trixi Louise Sofia Margrethe Christina
Trixi is after her grandmother the Queen, Louise was one of late Queen Ingrid of Denmark names, Sofia is after the Queen in Spain, Magrethe is from Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Christina is also from Spain

Boy: Benjamin Claus Frederik Alexander Willem
Benjamin just because i like it and because it is on of the names in Princess Alexandras of Berleburgs husbands names, Claus is from his grandfarther, Frederik is after CP Frederik of Denmark and Alexander-Willem is from his dad just in another direction.

why do you think they will choose danish names? i would find it quite odd if they started to use nemes from the danish royal family instead of the dutch royal family.
I cant wait to see the little baby
