Easier said than done... Reading a thread about your "wrinkles and freckles" can send most women to the botox area. The crucial thing is they can't win anyways: if they are "au naturel" they are called old for their age and wrinkly. When they've done something they are called "artificial" and "plastic" A loose-loose situation so to say.

well, that is up to everyone, what it makes you feel better is the best!, if you like plastic surgery and make you feel better great, if you do not like plastic surgery and you still feeling great,it is great too! that's the important, how do you feel without thinking what the others think!

I think that Maxima is very beautiful her imperfections make her beautiful. The wrinkles and freckles make her who she is. I know a person who has scars on her body from where she has had surgery for health reasons and she is very beautiful. Beauty is only skin deep anyway and from what I have seen Maxima has a beautiful personality.

I just turned 40, and I look at Maxima for inspiration. She is one of the most beautiful princesses, in my opinion of course. She looks great even with the wrinkles around her eyes. She is beautiful and an inspiration to many women. I would be devastated if she would have cosmetic surgery--her face would not be the same. I think the wrinkles make her look even more beautiful. She is a young woman and looks better every year. Go Maxima!

Peels and other cosmetic nonsurgical procedures can do a lot as well as wearing high spf sunblock! If she has access to the best (and she does) she should make the best decision for her.

I think she should take better care of her skin. That being said, the best thing about Maxima is that she makes you feel better to look at her.
When I was in Amsterdam and The Netherlands, many people spoke of how she loosened up W-A and how friendly she is and how proud they are to have her as a Crown Princess. Her image was everywhere when I went to the flower mart. I take that as a good sign. She does have a very warm and wonderful smile.

Me, I always say that smile lines are great- they're a sign of laughter and joy. I always say that of the royals, Máxima has the best laugh, simply because even in her pictures, when Máxima's smiling she just seems to light up a room

My vain little self is all for subtle plastic surgery. However, if she decides to do something major she should be very careful; to think long and hard before going under.

Furthermore, I would hate to see her fall into the Botox-Juvederm-Chempeel group. It's addicting and pretty soon she'll lend up looking like a Coto de Caza Fembot.

Maxima's fine lines (laugh lines and so forth) add character, I love it, and that's what makes her standout from the rest. She shines.

That leaves me wondering, what on earth is Coto de Caza Fembot, GT? It sounds rather scary

These two Portuguese socialites are my favourite examples of pllastic crimes, Betty Grafstein (of the diamonds) and her husband (seriously) Jose Castello Branco.

They look scary, too! Coto de Caza is an exclusive enclave in Orange County, California where some of the woman have been so seriously botoxed, peeled, and collagenized (not to mention the huge breasts they buy). If you can, try to see an episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County". Those ladies there are prime examples....

They are scary. I have several relatives that live in Coto de Caza (one recently moved out and now lives in Newport, thank heavens), and that place is very creepy. If you thought the book as well as movie The Stepford Wives was weird, you should visit CdC. :shudders: I hate going there, that place is not normal.

Back to Maxima, like I said, I think she's divine, and I would hope she would never have major surgery to diminish her laugh lines or have a strong chempeel. If she did, she would look the same.

It's refreshing to see a celeb whose ears aren't at the top of her head.

But Maxima should be careful of the sun and use sunscreen (I should, too).

Well, next time you go there GT, take your camera, yours and drottnings story make me rather curious about those people .

To antonietta: I have just come back from Portugal and I have several friends who are Portuguese. They also discussed a woman called Floribella, who apparently got herself some new breasts (that were placed too high according to some).

Anyway, back to Maxima, I would be very surprised if Maxima would start cosmetic surgery at a point (unless for health reasons of course), she doesn´t seem to be overly obsessed with perfect looks etc. and it is not very common in The Netherlands either (though in some circles it is starting to get more popular).

You forgot to mention every housewife in "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is blone besides their D size bra. I lived in Orange County before and I don't recognize these women. Coto de Caza isn't an old community so where all these women came from before they moved there? Scary is the right word.

I grew up in Orange Co. (Rossmoor/Tustin Hills) and I never saw anyone that looked like that in my life! However, at 44 I can recall camping at Coto de Caza when it was still wilderness.

Plastic surgery now is a huge business, even here in Northern California. I've seen some pretty 'plastic' people lately, and I'm not talking about their personality. It seems to me that any celebrity I look at has had a lot of work done, and that's not a Good Thing.
I really admire Beatrix for her natural look, and hope Maxima goes the same way. But, like I said in a previous post, she should take care against skin damage.

I don't think we should so dogmatic about plastic surgery. There are people who are obcessed by their looks and the result of all those facial surgeries is simply... well, awful! But I also think that too many wrinkles and facial spots are a sign of self negligence. Nowadays there are so many brands of moisturizings and anti-aging products. Not all plastic surgeries have to be so dramatic like some we have seen posted here. Sometimes people just make a little correction on their face (for instance they want to change a weird nose or something like that) and if they want to do it, I don't see any problem about that. About wrinkles, any anti-aging cream from a good brand can make wonders on the skin.

I just wanted to add that Betty Grafstein is not American but British. She was married to an American Jew before she marry this joke called Jose Castelo Branco.
Marengo, her real name is not Floribella... That's the name of her character on the tv show. Her name is Luciana Abreu.
