Mette-Marit (and also Haakon, the children, etc) is actually very close to her family - her mother has often been at Skaugum, taking care of the children when MM and H have been on travels, MM is fairly often in Kristiansand to visit her mother - the whole family came to Skaugum for Christmas Eve celebrations last year… etc. We've also seen pictures of MM attending football matches with her brothers, attending her niece's school plays and so on.

thanks, norwegianne. this is really nice to hear. I am also glad to learn that the children are close with their maternal grandmother, and that MM is close with her nieces and nephews. I have often wondered how life was for the non-royal parents and siblings.

I am assuming she is close to her Mum.

I would like that to be so.

Please don't quote me on this.

NICE to know ... Thank you, Norwegianne!

You seem expert, here.

Do you know folks who themselves KNOW members of the Royal Family?

Interested as to your Sources.

I don't know anyone who knows the royal family - all the things I've mentioned are things that have come out in interviews with the royals, or articles about them, or in photoshoots.

Gotcha!

How lucky are you to have places where you can read all about European Royals with any degree of regularity!

Good naturedly, I envy you.
