PRINCE HAAKON OF NORWAY

EX-PAT CHIC

Since moving to London with his wife Mette-Marit and stepson Marius last year, the heir to Norway's throne seems to have done his best to blend in with the crowd. With his overcoat, closely-trimmed beard and metropolitan family lifestyle, he could be mistaken for any well-heeled graduate student

Crown Prince pleased with the year in London

Av: Hanne Dankertsen 19. jun 12:31

«It has been a very good year. We have had the opportunity to study and to experience some peace and quiet», said Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon after spending one year in London with his family.

The Crown Prince and the Crown Princess visited the Norwegian school in London on Wednesday, their last official task in Great Britain before the family moves back to Norway this autumn, according to NTB.

«It has been enjoyable being able to live in London. We have had a lot of visitors, which is very nice, and we have also met a lot of new people. And, maybe most importantly, we have become familiar with the British society and that is very useful», the Crown Prince said.

Summer holiday
The Crown Princess Mette-Marit has now finished her studies.

«I have had four exams and I think it went well. It feels good to be finished», the Crown Princess said.

The Crown Princess will go on summer holiday with her son Marius whereas the Crown Prince will continue his studies and complete his exams of trade politics at the London School of Economics on Thursday.

«After this I will start working on my paper which is to be completed in September», the Crown Prince said.

The Crown Prince has not yet decided on the subject of his paper.

Move back home
The couple will move back to Norway for good when the Crown Prince has completed his studies but the Crown Princess will be spending most of her time in Norway as her son will start school in Norway this autumn.

Crown couple back in Norway

Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and her son Marius returned to Norway late Tuesday night, marking the beginning of the end of their sojourn in England. Crown Prince Haakon will be returning to London to finish his studies in trade policies, newspaper VG reports.

According to VG the prince returned to London on Wednesday morning. He will continue to live in the couple's apartment in Earl's Court until September while he complete his studies.

The royal family did not appear to be finished with their return to Norway, as there was no sign of a major move of the contents of their London flat.

Crown Prince Haakon will be back home again on July 2, for the christening of his sister Martha Louise's first child, Maud Angelica. That date also marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of King Olav V.

Dang paparazzi! I know they're hiding out there in the bushes somewhere. If I can get my hands on them, they're gonna enjoy a stay in my castle dungeon.

Thanks:flowers:, but I see now, that these pictures are not all from their one-year time in London, the pictures with Ingrid-Alexandra are from later...

"Crown Prince Haakon (28) and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (28) visited London last week to look for a place to live. The royal couple are moving to London by the end of the summer. They looked at several apartments while they were there. First one in Bayswater then three or four different in Notting Hill. They were well taken care of by police escort and people from the Norwegian embassy. After a while they all went for lunch at the famous restaurant "Sticky fingers" owned by Bill Wyman. Mette-Marit looked as if she liked what she just saw. This was an aparment in Notting Hill that they returned to the next day."
