I think that both the King and Queen in general supported the Crown Prince in his choice (both before and after the wedding) and Mette-Marit often breaks into tears when she talks about the support she received from her in-laws.
But one thing is clear, Queen Sonja has never been afraid to speak out if she disagrees with something. This has been told by both Mette-Marit and Ari in interviews.
