Mette-Marit's year of going to school in Australia

I heard that Princess Mette-Marrit studied in Australia for a few months, when was this because i dont remember it.

She was an exchange student for a year, when she was in high school. You wouldn't have noticed her presence, as she was not news-worthy back then. (Had we only known... :) )
 
Crown Prince Haakon received Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in the University of California, Berkley in 1999.
Princess Martha Louise moved to New York in 2004, so she would have an American accent.

I read some where that he attened the London School of Economics. Was this before he moved to the U.S.?

Haakon and Mette-Marit both studied in London during 2002/2003. Haakon studied international politics, while Mette-Marit studied at the School of Oriental and African studies.

Didn't Know Mette-Marit studied in London. Did they know about each other during their time in the U.K.? Thanks kwanfan :flowers: .

Yes, they were already married by that time. They got married in August of 2001. :wub:

Thanks Avalon for helping me out with this. I completely forgot that she moved to New York. I'm still kind of learning all the different royal families.:rolleyes:

After starting at Oddernes upper secondary school in Kristiansand, Mette-Marit spent six months at Wangaratta High School located in North East Victoria in Australia as an exchange student with the exchange organisation, Youth For Understanding.

It must have been an unforgettable experience for Mette-Marit.

Prince Haakon's Education
Crown Prince Haakon holds a Bachelor in political science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters Degree in development studies from London School of Economics and Political Science.

The Crown Prince graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen in 1995. The studies at Berkely started in the autumn of 1996 and he received his Bachelor in 1999. The following autumn the Crown Prince was a trainee with Norway’s delegation to the UN and in 2001 he followed the Foreign Ministry’s trainee programme for diplomats.

The MA in development studies was completed in London in 2003, with a specialisation in international trade and Africa.

Princess Mette-Marit's Education
The Crown Princess completed her upper secondary education at Kristiansand Katedralskole in 1994. During her time at upper secondary school, she spent a year abroad as an exchange student at Wangaratta High School in Australia.

Later the Crown Princess attended Bjørknes Private School, and in 1997 she took Examen philosophicum (the preliminary university examination) as well as examinations in chemistry and information technology at Agder University College. In 2000 - 2002 she studied ethics at the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Oslo.

In 2003 the Crown Princess followed courses at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, where she took examiniations in Development-Experience, Theories of Development, HIV/AIDS and Development and The Global Refugee Crisis. The Crown Princess also spent three months as an observer at the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), where she focused on HIV/AIDS issues.

In autumn 2008 the Crown Princess began studying part-time at BI Norwegian School of Management in Oslo, where she completed her Master of Management in 2012.
