I think whether or not Philippe has to deal with it depends on whether the criticism is valid. If the people doing the complaining are just mindless diehards that always criticize him, he may ignore the complaints as other royals have done..adhering to the philosophy, "why dignify such ignorants with a response?" QEII, the POW, King Juan Carlos, and I'm sure others, have used this philosophy and it smothers alot of the unsubstantiated complaints. Those that are substantial continue to be revived and have to be dealt with at some point. We'll see...

Mathilde's speech at the meeting of "South African Women in Dialogue"

Mrs Mbeki,

I thank you for inviting me here to this inspiring gathering.
Quite impressive!

Dear Ladies,

As a woman I am very pleased to meet such motivated communities engaged in the development of South African women. Every day, you are strengthening pan-African women’s partnerships.
You, the women of South Africa, you contributed greatly to the realisation of a democratic and free country. Therefore you have the right to speak out. You have the right to be listened to. And above all, you have the duty to share your experiences with your sisters in Africa and beyond.
If you don’t give a clear message, then who will?

Over the years, South Africa showed great tolerance in racial, religious and multicultural relations. Equality between men and women is recognized. And South African women really helped to achieve all this. Women like you can and must play a role in fostering peace, stability and security in their country and in their region.

I congratulate Mrs Mbeki for having brought together the women of South Africa in an open dialogue. Networking platforms were created in the field of poverty alleviation, business alliances, training opportunities and cultural exchanges, to name but a few.
So, let other women benefit from your leadership!

Dear friends,

I listened carefully to your messages and I take them on board.
Once again, I congratulate you for your commitment to increase women’s participation on issues of national, regional and international importance.
Standing together, women can make a difference towards a just and humane society.

I wish you every success in creating and strengthening a dialogue among women.

and consider myself not as an fashion expert
