will philippe have a state dinner or something to celebrate his birthday, like queen margrethe, there's nothing official or anything?

As far as I know nothing big and special is planned, and definetely
nothing comparable to the big celebrations in Denmark..

** 34th Floralies Of Ghent Official Launch **

On another note: Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde will attend the funeral
of Polish President Lech Kaczyński and wife on Sunday, April 18!

What beautiful photos, - what magnificent flowers! Thank you for posting the photos and video links:)

Royalsmartie, Floralies is a flower, plant, floral arrangement
exhibition that already takes place for the 34th time. This
year it runs from April 17 to April 25.

Princess Mathilde and Prince Philippe attended it as a normal
official engagement, but as it's been Prince Philippe's birthday
they brought their children as a special surprise and Prince
Philippe was honoured with a rhododendron that was named
after him and therefore officially baptized by him.

Thank you for the pictures iceflower and stephanievl. A beautiful family. I have read that Philippe will have a birthday celebration later and due to volcanic ash, they will be unable to go to Copenhagen (as also the King and Queen).:flowers:

It's not weird to have flowers named after you, many royals have flowers named after them.
It's a shame that so many royals have missed the celebrations due to the Volcano.

Normally prince Philiipe and princess Mathilde will attend the funeral of the president of Poland. I am not sure that they will now due to the Volcano!

If I don't mistake, the president of Polish parliament who is now acting as President of Poland is a relative of Mathilde, isn't he?
