Quick explanation for those of you who don't understand dutch:

The princess says to the first girl she is impressed with the girl's courage and optimism. The lesson to learn: it's no use being depressed every day, because the days pass slower when you feel depressed, so it's better to laugh (so says the girl with the pink hat/cap).

The princess talked to the parents, doctors and children. At the end she says "nobody should be indifferent to the suffering of a child"

It was very moving to see the princess interacting with those children and their parents. You can see she is genuinely concerned, and she really truly cares.

Here's a video of her speech. She said it was important that all women should feel equal, and participate in the culture they live in. (deredactie.be)
See blog entry here for more information on the event.

Seems like a nice building the exhibition was shown at.

The Dr. Guislain museum is on the premises of the Guislain Psychiatric centre, in the (remainder) of the buildings which once constituted about the first psychiatric centre in Belgium. The oldest parts were built in the 1850s.
If you know Dutch, you can find more info here. And there are some more pics too, for those who don't understand Dutch.

Some articles about the visit here and here is a little video about the visit.

I saw great pictures of Mathilde wearing her only tiara as necklace....

This photo is adorable. A cow licking Crown Princess Mathilde's hand ... The agenda appears to be full of various engagements, which hopefully contributes to better approval ratings of Crown Princely couple.

Loving Mathildes outfit.
Except for maybe the jacket, don't think it suits her.

Lovely photos, thanks to everyone who posted them. I do like her outfit - a white shirt looks great on any occasions

From our blog:

Princess Mathilde Keeps Her Promise

Princess Mathilde of Belgium’’s busy agenda had another engagement ins tore for March, yesterday the princess visited farm ‘t Goteringenhof, a social project for children and seniors in Gooik, Kester. The farm is owned by Dirk Decoster and Anita Baeyens. Last yeat the princess had been unable to attend the agricultural fair ‘Agriflanders’ and she asked if it was possible to visit the farm at another date, which was yesterday.

‘t Goteringenhof is not just an ordinairy dairy farm as they have 100 white-blue cows that are threatened with extinction and since 2003 the farm also employs three ‘less valid’ people with the ages between 20 and 30: among them an autiostic girl. For them the farm is a way to experience another environment.

After the princess arrived she received a tour of the farm and stables. Mathilde told the owners that when she was still living with her parents she frewuently visited the farm of their neighbours. Her children also visit the farm from time to time, so they get acquented with farming and the country side. ‘The princess was well informed and interested’ concluded Anita Baeyens, ‘the princess knew about the present low milk prices. She asked if we had enough money to provide for our family. She didn’t know so may working hours were needed to keep the farm profitable and she showed a lot of respect for our agricultural projects. The princess was surprised about the time that is spent on keeping the administration of the farm up to date’.

Princess Mathilde also stayed for lunch, during the lunch she was able to get to know the various issues that farmers are dealing with as 20 wives of farmers from the five Flemish provinces were invited. To thank the pricness for her visit she received a big basket with various regional products. The princess said that it would take her family some time to eat it all.

Mathilde looks radiant and elegant as always. I really like the concept behind this farm; it is wonderful to bring children and the elderly together. I imagine that both groups learn a lot from each other.

What a great posture and elegance. Princess Mathilde sets the standard in Europe. Even if Princess Mathilde was wearing cheap clothes she would be gracefull. I think she is a rolemodel and someone should congratulate Prince Philippe for he choose his wife very well. Princess Mathilde embodies the grace of a real Princess and that in the 21st century, chapeau! She knows how to walk, how to talk (not too loud not to soft), how to look and how to carry herself.

You are not the only one of this opinion :D

From our blog:

Mathilde voted most popular European princess by PdV

Princess Mathilde was voted the most popular and best future Queen-consort in Europe by a poll of the French royalty magazine Point de Vue. She received 47,8% of the votes, and lead the poll with a large margin. Second in the poll was the Dutch Princess Máxima (21,1%), closely followed by Letizia, the Princess of Asturias (17,8%). Only 10% of the votes went to Mary and Mette-Marit of Norway got less than 3%. According to PdV, Princess Mathilde won because of her softness, charm, and competences.
