Amongs others, she met the brothers Dardenne, who are probably the most important directors in the Belgian film industry. Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde have always been very suportive of Belgian films.

a tribute to former European commissioner and president of the party
SP (Flemish socialists) Karel Van Miert, Friday 26 June 2009. Karel Van
Miert died on Monday 22 June 2009 at the age of 67 while he was
working in his orchard in Beersel.

Kroningsprocessie

Prins Filip en Prinses Mathilde zijn 's avonds in Tongeren aanwezig op de Kroningsprocessie in het kader van de zevenjaarlijkse Kroningsfeesten.

Principessa, it has nothing to do with Tonga.
Tongeren is the oldest city of Belgium, a place of
pilgrimage. Princess Mathilde and Prince Philippe will
attend a famous coronation ceremony there.

I've read that Tongeren is proud to be the cradle of
Christianity in today's Netherlands and Flanders and
already in the Middle Ages pilgrimages were made to
that town. Every seven years that special celebration
is held, this year for the 17th time and one highlight
are the four processions.

as the event is only listed on Prince Philippe's agenda
and not on the one of Princess Mathilde.

She is so elegant in black and white

The pics in post #357 (thanks iceflower~) are really nice, since you can see that they coordinated the outfits; Phillippe's tie and gold buttons picking up her dress color.

Hands down, my favorite royal couple.
