Mathilde is one of those rare women who are so radiant they can look decent even in a not so great outfit.
I don't really care for her dress at all, but as usual she looks like an angel in it.

I surely agree! If I look only at this dress I would say "not my kind of dress..." but the dress on her seems perfect. Princess Mathilde gives life to her cloth.
