CP Philippe & Mathilde on economic mission to Japan (& South Korea): June 10-15, 2012

Crown Prince Philippe and Crown Princess Mathilde will be on an economic mission to Japan from June 10th to June 15th, 2012.

On his way to Japan Crown Prince Philippe will represent the King on the Belgian Day at the Expo 2012 Yeosu in South Korea, Crown Princess Mathilde will travel to Japan directly.

The economic mission is organized by the Agency for Foreign Trade in close cooperation with the regional trade.
State and local ministers will accompany the couple on their journey.

The visit to Japan has started today, June 10.

As a first event Crown Princess Mathilde has visited the Nezu Museum in Tokyo.

After the meeting with Crown Prince Naruhito today, Crown Princess Mathilde and Crown Prince Philippe visited the Meiji Shrine temple and Mathilde had a meeting with the delegation of the Belgian businesswomen.

Today, June 12, on day 3 of the visit, Crown Prince Philippe has visited the Keidanren head office, Crown Princess Mathilde
has visited the Bunka Gakuen University and an exhibition of court kimonos and together they've attended a dinner with
Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the Imperial Palace.

On day 4 of the visit, June 13, Crown Princess Mathilde has participated in a meeting with students taking part in the project 'Building international bridges' in Sendai and she met people who live in Sendai outside the area affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster last year.
