Lovely that it's another girl. Beautiful name. I think Marie is a Catholic tradition.

Congratulations to the family. It is a beautiful name, although I didn't pick that one. It is also nice not to have to wait months for the announcement of the name. I am really glad it is a girl, now Elisabeth will have a sister.

How wonderful!
I just love the name. I thought Eleonore was perfect before, and now they chose it... very elegant names, such a beautiful meaning, and they are continuning their "el" theme...I don't mind the other Leonor(e)s, it is such a nice name, really better this way than an ugly name that no other royal ever had!
I also love the other names, it flows so well together. Welcome, little girl!

i love the name Eléonore, it's so pretty!!! and of the perfect balance of 2 boys and 2 girls. wonderful. How great must that be to be born so close to daddy's birthday!

i think someone's mentioned it before, but I don't know why, I checked the BRF website today (which I don't normally do) and that's how I found out. Inspired feeling perhaps.

Here is a link to a video where Prince Filip says he is a proud father.
De Standaard Online - 'Dames en heren, voor u staat een trotse vader'

At the end he says the name Eléonore. So if you don't know how exactly to pronounce ...

congrats to the family! I'm just wondering though how Anne is pronounced in Belgium. Is it the pronounced like the American/British way, or is it pronounced 'an-neh', two syllables?

The French way is without the -e ending, whereas I heard it being two syllables in the Dutch video provided. So, basically - both.

ooh. so both pronounciations will work, with the country being bilingual. thanks for explaining!

Thanks also for the photos of the kids and Philippe visiting. They're all so big now, especially the boys. Emmanuel is almost as tall as Gabriel now.
