Here we have the Nicholl woman again!

Prince Charles was supposed to have not one but two parties to celebrate his 60th birthday this month.
But now, not content with a reception and dinner at Buckingham Palace followed by a private shindig at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire, he will be guest of honour at a third lavish bash.

If you read past the headline, it has nothing to do with Charles, it is HM trying to placate Gordon Brown and other dignitaries!

Here is another one:

Prince Charles at 60, happy at least

Approaching 60, Prince Charles is more content than ever: satisfied in both his personal and professional life, he accepts that his legacy as Prince of Wales might outweigh his potentially short reign as King Charles III.

Prince Charles at 60, happy at last - Telegraph
Not a bad article, but I do worry about the constant referral to unnamed sources.

the king and queen of spain will visit japan from the 8th-14th november. i guess that leaves less possibilities of the prince and princess of asturias representing the spanish house in the birthday celebration :(

When's the poor man going to have time to attend this brunch organised on his actual birthday at such short notice by his mother! He's already got 2 main engagements on that day - 1 attending a Prince's Trust project and then attending a classical concert by children from his Children & the Arts Foundation. More to the point when is he going top have time on his actual birthday to receive Camilla's 60 gifts!!

is it not a private dinner at Buckingham Palace so we are unlikely to see pictures of the royals attending?

I just have seen that the only German TV report about Charles 60th birthday will be on Thursday November 13 (from ZDF with the title: ´Der ewige Thronfolger´) at 0.35 in the night.
Poor German television...
( Or can somebody tell me something else....please!!)

Well Royalty is definitely overshadowed by the US elections.
So, of course they show programs about the election instead of something about the Royals.
So why "poor german television"?
As ARD and ZDF are regulated by public law they have a informatory duty.
Maybe there will be a documentary about the PoW when the whole Election-hype is over.

The election is today/ tomorrow, the birthday in ten days so i think there would be then time for a report about the Prince in the evening -where most people like to watch.
I remember similar TV programs about other royal birthdays at a time where not everybody sleeps....

Crown Princess Mette-Marit's sick leave has been extended for two more weeks. This means she will not be able to participate in Prince Charles' celebrations in London next week.

The Norway Post - Crown Princess still on sick leave

I wish her a speedy recovery.

Yet another inaccurate and half baked () headline, the Duchy recipe book is far from being inexpensive! (£16.25) new.

BBC 1 Nov 12th 8:30 - 10pm UK

BBC - BBC One Programmes - Charles at 60: the Passionate Prince

I was hoping that the Beep would do some coverage on the party at Buckingham Palace on Nov 13th but nothing.

Sometimes it seems that no one in the BRF can do anything right and this seems to be right now. They sell those biscuits here but I have never tried them, they are a bit expensive and when I squeeze the packet (joking of course) there don´t seem to be many in them.....

I think there already were occasions in the past with both Kings & CP out of the country at the same time. Would be a shame to see the Spanish CPs pulling out, maybe Infanta Cristina & Inaki will go instead. We'll see - it's only about one evening abroad, some royals will continue their events back home on Friday already (eg CP Victoria).

Only insofar as TPTB will expect him to grit his teeth and smile a mile. I really am going to miss his strong advocacy, and I also wonder how on earth he is going to remain silent on any of those areas he has campaigned passionately for all his life.

As the journalist who wrote this was on the Far East tour with the Prince, who was accompanied by his chief press officer Paddy Harverson I suspect that the 'unnamed' source is in fact the press officer. This also makes sense of the constant and misleading claims that the Prince has 'recently' come to terms with the fact that it will be some time before he becomes king. When anybody who watched Jonathan Dimbleby's interview with Prince Charles in 1994, will know he had already assumed that was so back then. But Mr. Harverson didn't join Prince Charles's staff until 2003 and may well have never seen the original broadcast as his background is that of football journalism.

How 'badly' injured was she by the fall? Certainly, I'd have thought a concussion shouldnt have such a lingering effect that it should stop her from participating in events a month or so on...a bit strange, imo...but there you go!
