Whilst The Queen continues her stay at Sandringham, Prince Charles received the Prime Minister at Clarence House on Monday.

The Prince of Wales typically receives the Prime Minister at 1 or 2 points in the year. All forms part of the Prince’s training to be King.

For those who don't know the Landmark Trust, it is an organisation that restores old buildings and then lets them for holidays. Not just houses, but follies, cottages and even pigsties.

Here is a link to the property - you can stay in at Maesyronnen Chapel

Later - Not too shabby
Pity no one thought of this for Sleldale House...
With proceeds going to help local animal shelters. Blue Cross, The RSPCA, so forth
@ Daria-shall I book the honeymoon suite Of the pigsty for your honeymoon with hubby?

Prince Charles pledges £50,000 flood aid on visit to Somerset Levels - Telegraph

Prince Charles donates £50k to flooded areas; matched by Duke of Westminster.

Explination about the fund from The Times

Victoria Elms of the Prince’s Countryside Fund said: “Rural communities in the South West are facing a second consecutive year of flooding.
“The Prince’s Countryside Fund exists to support the people who live and work in the countryside and we hope this financial aid will go some way to supporting the farmers, businesses and families who are facing severe hardships as a result of the flooding.
“Rural businesses are key to thriving communities and we want to help get hard-hit villages back on their feet and open for business.”
The Prince’s Countryside Fund, founded by Charles, was set up in July 2010 to support rural areas. It allocates grants twice a year to rural projects but it also reserves a portion of its income to be used in times of crisis.

I am very pleased that the Prince of Wales has visited the flood victims in Somerset. It is high time someone of importance showed an effort because the floods have been in place since Christmas!

Prince Charles today said the 'tragedy' on the flood-hit Somerset Levels is that 'nothing happened for so long'.

The Prince of Wales - who mounted a wooden throne installed for him during his visit - made the remarks as he met local residents, farmers and emergency workers who have been affected by the devastating floods.

He even pledged a £50,000 donation to support flood victims and the clean-up operation, with Major-General Gerald Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster agreeing to match the funding with an additional £50,000 - taking the total donation to £100,000.

The headline is a little silly and unnecessary ("Prince Charles FINALLY sits on the throne"), but I guess that's the sort of headline we can expect from The Daily Mail.
