I almost didn't go, too. It was a chilly and windy day (at least for June), and I'd just been to Trooping the Colour four days before and the Garter procession two days before and I figured I'd had enough ceremonial for a while. Then I realized there's no such thing as too much of that, so I claimed a spot well before the rest of the crowd got there and was extremely well-rewarded by the presence of the Queen and the Duchess.

You are welcome Skydragon!
I wonder what those stains (?) on Camilla's coat are!

I'm useless, I can't see any, could it perhaps be slight folds/shadows on the coat?

Alternately, having sampled some of the food on offer at Halton.....

(...)A chef cooking sautéed potatoes offered some to The Duchess and she tried a mouthful of the dish. (...) ( from the PoW website)

Maybe a little accident happend during the meal...

But with stains on her coat or without...take a look at her face:
She looks so happy, confident, lovely...great!
(Thank you for sending all the pics)

Its very nice to see Camilla out and about doing her royal engagements. My only comment is that she does not appear to be doing very many engagements these days, and only been seen out 3-4 times since Christmas. This is exactly the sort of ammunition the press are looking for, and I believe, this notion of her being the laziest royal, may prevent her from using the title of Queen when the time comes. This is something that she can and should address soon!

The coverage at RAF Halton was much more extensive her previous engagements: 15th Jan - Scotland (2), 20th Jan - Bath (Theatre Royal) & reception at Clarence House, 22nd Jan - Essex (2), and 23r Jan - joint visit to 3 companies that hold The POW's Royal Warrant.

Scheduled for today 2 engagements - Met Police Mounted Training Establishment in Surrey and Me Police Dog Training Establishment in Kent. Tomorrow TRH are scheduled to be at Herefore Cathedral - concert and reception.

Certainly a busy girl. Add to that the 100's of letters she writes, the private visits to injured men and their families.

Being out 5-6 times in a month is not exactly a heavily work load.

I looked it up in the court circular. For the Month of January engagements undertaken the talley is:
Charles: 16
Camilla: 5
Joint: 2

For the entire year 2008
Charles: 260
Camilla: 85
Joint: 165
Of the ones Camilla does alone, the majority are horse/dog/flower related.

You are most welcome and obviously you are not the
only one who likes the scarfes - take a look at the pics in the

Thanks for the link ice. What a load of old codswollup! Embarassing? I don't think so! She looked like she was having a ball.

She doesn't seem to mind splashes on her clothes, snuffling from a horse, nuzzling from assorted puppies and an all out tug-of-war to retain one of her fabulous scarves with a full grown Shepherd.

The more I see of the Duchess in action the more I admire her.
