Prince Charles´ Olympic-sized snub to China
January 27

The Prince made his decision known to campaigners for a free Tibet, who had been calling on him to show solidarity with those who believe the Games risk obscuring China's human rights record.

Look at the headline and then read what it says, why am I surprised, we can't expect the facts to get in the way of a controversy invoking headline!

As milla Ca has told you, nobody denies that Dale was one of Charles' girlfriends who then became just a close friend before he married Diana. Whether I am part of the 'hate the daily Mail brigade' or not, a link to the story would be appreciated.

It has been reported in a British newspaper that The Prince of Wales has “snubbed” China by declining an invitation to attend the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

Clarence House pointed out that The Prince of Wales had not been invited to attend the Games, and also explained that His Royal Highness has only ever attended the Olympics once, which was to Montreal in July 1976 to watch his sister The Princess Royal compete for Great Britain in Olympic Games equestrian events.

Not really a snub, he's just not going. And he hasn't been an avid attender so it's understandable. A non issue. If King Constantine didn't go then perhaps one could call it a snub because HM seems to go every year wherever it is but I don't see the significance of Charles not going. Will they say Anne's snubbing the games? And she's an IOC member.

JEBURGH-born MP Ian Davidson has accused the Prince of Wales of political meddling this week over the latter's decision to boycott this summer's Olympics in Beijing, writes Mark Entwistle.

Davidson hits out at Prince Charles over Olympics boycott - Borders Today
-----------
Not much hope for British politics. This person is ranting about Prince Charles not going to the Olympics, despite the fact that Charles has only ever been once, wasn't invited in the first place AND has released a statement saying this was the case!

I don't believe it - they quote the Daily Express aka "Di Express" and it's favorable for Charles. Okay, he takes an express train to Brussels and back but still... Are times really changing now?

Jo and Skydragon, i agree when you distrust of any news from the D.... Express, but if it´s true that Charles will return on Valentine´s Day to London to spend the evening with Camilla, i think it would be a very romantically gesture...

Thank you for the pictures. Now I do like Charles' outfit, but Cherie could do with a little toning down!

Why was Cherie wearing a furnishing fabric? Let us hope the window didn't look too bare without it.

Seems since she has to pay for her residence, she decided to save a bit at the clothes' front. Or she found that now that her husband is no longer PM she has to do something to amuse the prince in order to be recognized by him. Or she became a fan of Winnie Mandela - let's hope she is not going to have her ownn "football club" (that is a bad one, I know.).
