Smile Thank You

It was really sweet the way Charles reached back and held Camillas hand as they went down the slope.
The news coverage in the UK seems really lacking, I know they are in the USA but, they could give us a little more on the tv than we are getting.
Most of the pictures I have seen are on this site, so thank you to everyone!:)

Re:

Well, Charles and Camilla have proved me wrong and I'm glad they have. I thought the visit to New Orleans was a huge success and the Mayor of New Orleans said how pleased he was that they had come and that it meant so much. The BBC interviewed one woman who said, "I was a Diana fan but Charles has done alot better with Camilla. She's just a normal, natural woman and I think she's lovely".
Whoever said that the proof of the pudding was in the eating? Whoever it was, they were right.

Lovely suit at the War Memorial! Perhaps the poppies alone would have been sufficient accessories? But I LOVE the hat, very Camilla, very chic, very royal!!!

What I have always admired about Prince Charles is the fact that, to my knowledge, he has always taken interest in minorities and people who are in the lower tax bracket (to put it nicely). His Trust gives alot to charity and aid to people in need. He was the first to have a Black Secretary and the Duchess had a Black Male Security Officer. I believe she had him switched with a female due to the fact that she felt more comfortable being around a female, not because of color.

know that those shoes are the chanel type of shoe but it looks like she got them from marks & sparks, not elegant (not withstanding her good legs)

Thanks everyone who posted all these lovely pictures. But why is it that Camilla looks 20 lbs. lighter in the day than at night?

I agree about her voice, it's delicious. I heard it when she spoke about osteoporosis in England. I think they should let her say a few words more often, it makes such a difference to how she is perceived.

I have followed PC for years and I have admired his attempt to put environmental issues on the world stage -- and especially his continued, tactful, interest in getting the United States leadership to make some substantial movement in this area...which we regretably have not yet done. I followed him through the exhilarating and devastating years with Diana and despite my opinion about that whole episode in his life, I am sure happy to see him so obviously content with Camilla. I hope these are very good years for them both.

A little anecdote from Point Reyes. I spent a Halloween evening some years ago in the Western Saloon. One of the local cowboys brought his llama inside while he (the cowboy) had his drinks. Not an eye brow was raised.

I think this is just one of the myriad of examples of Charles and Camilla's public affection for each other.

I think they make a phenomenal team and this trip has definitely proven that.

Camilla is the perfect consort for Charles. As old fashioned as it seems, and isn't the institution of monarchy old fashioned anyway so it's a pro pros, by choice Camilla takes a back seat to Charles and lets him take the lead. She is happy to let him make the speeches and be "the star" while she accepts her bouquets, smiles and nods her support. Nobody is fighting for attention with Charles on this trip. Even though all eyes are on Camilla, she is making it a point to turn the focus on Charles.

Everything I've read so far here in North America has been supportive and positive about Camilla. Everyone is pleasantly surprised by how funny and down to earth she is, how she is an elegant dresser and how friendly albeit a little bit shy she is. But also of note, how considerate Charles is of her and how considerate he is of including her in everything.

This is the relationship the monarchy needed from the get go to make it stronger. Imagine what the British monarchy could've been like if in 1981 it had been Charles and Camilla who became the Prince and Princess of Wales.

It appears that the British media can't stand good news. My mother in law was going on this morning about what a flop this visit was and that Americans have shown they find Charles boring and Camilla frunpy etc etc. The American news seems to be a bit different, but good news doesn't sell papers.

There is no guarantee a marriage between C&C in 1981 would have lasted. We can not re-write history nor predict what would have been if....
They didn't marry each other then for what must have been a good reason.
Camilla is now a mature women and one tends to have a much different attitude toward life in general once the children are grown and one is free of childrearing responsibilites. Like most women 50+ her second life is unfolding and it is a wonderful stage to be in.

Today was one of the best days of the royal tour. Several hundred people greeted them everywhere. They recieved a very warm welcome and it looked like they had fun and thoroughly injoyed themselves. Camilla was very funny from what I read. I knew that San Fran was going to be the best part of the visit. The laid back liberal approach to life makes everything so much more fun IMO. The down to earch couple meet a down to earth city. Im glad the tour is ending with a huge success.
