Court Circular
15th March, 2016

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today carried out the following engagements in Croatia.

Their Royal Highnesses this morning visited a Cultural Heritage Festival at Osijek Trvda.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a discussion on inter-faith relations in Slavonia at the Archaeological Museum, Osijek Trvda.

His Royal Highness afterwards met representatives of Osijek’s Software City and local businesses at the Archaeological Museum.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall subsequently met local community leaders, and schoolchildren and representatives involved in a regional peacebuilding and reconciliation initiative, at the Archaeological Museum.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Osijek Cathedral.

The Prince of Wales later visited Kopacki Wetlands, Osijek.

His Royal Highness, Vice Patron, the British Council, this evening attended a Reception at the Museum of Arts and Crafts, Zagreb, to celebrate the Seventieth Anniversary of the British Council in Croatia.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon met support workers and mentors involved in post-conflict counselling for victims of sexual violence, at the Archaeological Museum.

Her Royal Highness later visited Dakovo State Stud Farm, Osijek.

The reason I've highlighted that particular event is that there has been some discussion across a number of threads about the BRF giving their support on the subject of sexual violence. Camilla has championed this for some time, and is obviously wanted to support those affected in other countries as well.

"The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall emotionally embraced Kosovan people on a tour in the country's capital today after hearing harrowing stories of disappeared relatives from families affected by the conflict in 1999. Elvane Dana, 55, told Charles how her 16 and 18-year-old sons along with 10 other members of her family were taken - and that only eight had returned."

I didn't know anything about this tour until now. I suppose our media doesn't report a lot about Charles and Camilla. Now they are in Belgrade. Interesting.

I am amazed at the amount these 2 a putting into each stage of the visit. Today 10 engagements for Charles and 8 for Camilla. Again, she is speaking about the issues of domestic abuse and rape.

PRince of Wales made a wonderful speech on reconciliation today - he mentions Earl Mountbatten. It really resonates with what is happening in the world today, not just about Balkan history. Really worth watching
