I managed to watch some coverage on the television today and it was far more positive than in some of the papers. Plus they asked some of they people on the street what they thought and most were mildly interested.

O and ghost night, Camilla's wedding bouquet was lily of the valley and primrose so you might go with those, but I do think the Duchess would appreciate any sort of flowers really. :)

Thanks for the help I'll try to get some of those :flowers:

haha, o bummer. It would have been quite neat if one of our very own forumer..royalee...forumroyalist...TRFer, what exactly do we call ourselves, made it in the press.

No probs ghost. We will all be waiting to hear how your encounter with royalty goes. Good Luck!

Here are some photos I managed to grab during today's events. Click on the photo below for a full gallery. :)

The Royal Regiment of Canada and the Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Own) will receive new Colours from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, the Colonel-in-Chief of both Regiments during a ceremony at Varsity Stadium on 5 November beginning at 5 p.m.

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, have begun a three-day visit to Ontario after touching down in Toronto.
On Wednesday afternoon their plane landed at Pearson airport, where they were greeted by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.

A seven-year-old boy whose father was killed in Afghanistan reached up to the Duchess of Cornwall, put his arms around her neck and kissed her at a ceremony Wednesday to remember Newfoundland and Labrador's war dead. Camilla was delighted by the spontaneous show of affection from Matthew Lucas, whose father, Sgt. Donald Lucas of St. John's, was among six Canadian soldiers killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on April 8, 2007.

I went into Toronto and had two great encounters with the Duchess of Cornwall and one with the Prince of Wales. There were about 40-50 people at the Royal Conservatory of Music to see Camilla and she was warm and engaging to everyone and shook hands in the crowd and accepted flowers. I was then able to meet them both outside the Carlu a couple of hours later. The crowd was quite big -- and the majority of the people seemed under 30... so I think that blows the "people don't care" theory out of the water. Camilla recognized me from earlier in the day. "Hello. Oh, hello AGAIN!"

Did you get to shake hands and talk to her? Just out of curiosity, what did you say to her (when/if you met her)?

How lucky you were, bweir. The photo was very good!

Beautiful pictures thank you very much bweir. :flowers:
All the articles have been very interesting. :)

No gala events yet? I was hoping to see some serious jewelry on this visit.

I adore the fact that the Duchess visited the castle of her ancestors, that is wonderful planning. Not to mention, she looks like she is having a grand ole time on this visit to Canada. (Oh, and I love the polka dotted shirt!!)

Maybe it's due to the fact we rarely get much coverage of the royal couple over here, granted I do have this forum and another one I regularly visit that I can check for pictures and videos but I guess it's not really same anyways watching Charles and Camilla together the last few days down here in Canada has totally changed my attitude about them. I just adore them they are wonderful. Not only to the people who are there for them but together just as a couple they make a great team.

I'm still choked up about that little 7-year old boy who reached up to hug and kiss Camilla yesterday. He had lost his father in Afghanistan and was there with his mum and sister to see the royals. Charles and Camilla were very warm and gentle with him. How gracious.

I too would like to see a gala event! Thanks for sharing your private pictures with us bweir. Nice job! :)

She shook Prince Charles' hand and has the pictures to prove it. Maya Amoah, 13, saw the motorcade pull up the driveway of Dundurn Castle yesterday and squeezed her way to the front of the crowd of several hundred and was able to touch royalty.

beautiful pictures wbenson. :flowers:
You are ever so lucky. I think the coat is horrendous and she should not have worn it anyway. :)

Thank you all for the wonderful selection of personal photos and other photos. I agree with Nico & lumutqueen, the use of fur is very poor taste!

Very nice photos, bweir. Thanks for posting them. :flowers:

Thanks, everyone!!

I got to shake hands with her, and we had a very short exchange after I welcomed her to Toronto.

Judging by your great pics, wbenson, I don't think we've been more than 10 feet away from each other at the Carlu, Dundurn Castle OR Varsity Stadium!

wbenson & bweir, thank you very much for sharing your personal, amazing pictures! I really enjoyed them. :flowers:

Although I don't think I've ever been more tired than I am at this exact moment, I'm trying to get my pictures from yesterday up as soon as possible. LOL! Here are my photos from yesterday's event at Dundurn Castle. Click on the photo for more. :)

Wonderful photos everyone thanks for sharing your experience. I have a question to those who have waited outside, how early should I get down there in order to get a good view of Camilla, I want to atleast be able to see her even if I can't shake her hand. And I'm pretty short to begin with so if people are in front of people it will make it worse. Should it be more then half an hour before she gets there?
