I think that you could very well be correct in your opinion. Perhaps it has to do with her education and also the young age at which she became Sovereign. From what I've picked up about the Queen's education, her mother made sure that she had the standard education befitting an upper-case girl, and her father mentored her as far as being a sovereign goes. Then she was married at 21, a mother at 22, and Queen at the age of 26. Prince Charles has had many years to study and form his opinions and relative freedom to express his thoughts as well; we know more about what he thinks about things.

The Duchess of Cornwall met schoolchildren at Clarence House for a lecture with
author Jeremy Strong and afterwards they all travelled by Routemaster bus to a
reception at the London Transport Museum, London to mark the 15th Anniversary
of the National Young Readers' Programme. So it's been one event with different
settings.

As usual the tasteful version of the same event from the DM
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, turns on Christmas lights in Bath | Mail Online

Camilla turns on the Christmas lights -- but the festive feeling is not universal

I bet this lady has some election to win or something like that next year. She felt that "we should have had somebody who isn't associated with pomp and ceremony and wealth" ? Sure an olympic gold medalist and Nicolas Cage (last year) are not associated with wealth...Nonsense all the way.

Loved the Duchess' outfit.
It is nice to learn that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and her family like to read books. I love to read books, especially on royalty.

______________
The Duchess of Cornwall today, December 3rd, visited Corsham Regis Primary
School, Corsham. According to the article below she told the children
"I hope you have a very nice Christmas and I hope Father Christmas brings you
everything you ask for."
But it's even cuter what the headteacher said after the children had sung for
Camilla
"You did it again you brought a tear to my eye, its terribly naughty."
That's really nice

I have to confess that, until "The Engagement" threads went live, I haven't really read the DOC thread(s).
Now I think I have to eat humble pie - DOC seems one of the hardest-working Royals !! Or am I seeing it wrongly?

@ ice- love what the headteacher said! LOL
But on a serious note it would be an honor, and you would be proud that the children did so well for the DOC.

She really does seem to have a natural rapport with children doesn't she?

Hey guys-
There are some really good photos of the DOC in the gallery of the offical BRF, from a few days ago when she hosted a Xmas tea for the children of Helen and Douglas House child hospice at CH. I would post them but do not have a clue how to do so! That woman is a natural with kids!
